Chapter 362: Chapter 307 “Account: Denzel Doran
Hiss, hiss, hiss—-
Unnoticed, invisible spider silk had already entangled Sonia and Diya. The spider silk on their bodies was dull and sticky, like the tongues of quagmires or the barbs of demons, piling thicker and thicker in seconds, imprisoning them in a decaying cage.
“Ah! So filthy!” Diya, frightened, jumped up, her hands desperately trying to tear the spider web off, but the silk seemed both illusory and substantial; instead of removing it, her efforts only wove it tighter, leaving her already motley appearance utterly filthy. Moreover, because she squirmed about on the chair, one of the chair legs suddenly broke, and she crashed down to the ground.
“You–” Sonia’s eyes flashed sharply as she drew her sword and charged at Denzel, but the next second it was as if she tripped over something, and she took a solid fall on the wooden floor, her sword flying out of her hand!
The power of Weaving, terrifying indeed!
Without so much as blowing dust, Denzel had taken down two enemies!
Ash was completely dumbfounded and only now came back to his senses, turning to Denzel and saying, “Lover, was that really necessary? We don’t even have our memories, maybe–”
“There are no maybes.” Denzel gently pressed up against Ash’s cheek, his deep purple lips brushing Ash’s mouth corner, “Just like you said, character will dictate memory. I know very well what kind of person I am; if I truly love someone, then there will only be room for that person in my heart, and I would demand that apart from me, you cannot reflect anyone else in your pupils.”
“If you really are my lover… If I really am your lover…”
“Then I will not let you leave me, nor will I let anyone else get close to you. Love is being each other’s only, love is mutual exclusivity.”
“Although I don’t know why the previous me didn’t eliminate those two pests by your side…” Denzel’s tone lacked any fluctuation, as if merely noting why breakfast didn’t taste right: “But I’m certain that the future me will thank the current me for my actions.”
Ash hadn’t anticipated that the harmonious Crystal Palace he strived to build could backfire–in reasoning the character relationships earlier, it would be a lie to say Ash was impartial; he purposely positioned himself as the nodal point of everyone’s relationships, naturally hoping to garner attention and favor from all.
The result proved to be quite effective: his sister (Diya) listened well to him, his lover (Sonia) although still very guarded was gradually opening up to him, and his significant other (Denzel) was more introverted and silent. Overall, Ash felt he had the situation under control; under his deliberate influence, at least no vicious brawls had broken out inside the cabin.
But the reason Denzel had been silent was that she did not believe Ash’s conjectures at all, letting him ramble nonsensically. However, when through the interactions of the Empress and other Phantoms, Denzel confirmed that Ash was indeed her lover, only then did a sliver of her true nature emerge–a terrifying leviathan waking beneath the placid ocean surface.
Seeing their physical bodies suddenly fight, the Sword Maiden among the Phantom faction narrowed her eyes slightly, her fingertips touching the ruby hilt–
*_*
A chilling gaze pierced through the Phantom’s shell. The Sword Maiden tilted her head slightly, spotting the Observer watching her with a smiling gaze. She paused for a moment before withdrawing her fingers from the hilt, and only then did the Observer look away.
The Witch watched the women fight with rapt interest, but only the Empress noticed the interaction between the two Phantoms, a trace of doubt flickering in her eyes.
Noticing that Ash seemed to want to break free from her embrace, Denzel held him even more tightly, “Don’t struggle, let me handle this. It’ll be over soon, I don’t want to hurt you…”
However, Ash suddenly turned around and forcefully embraced Denzel. Taken aback, Denzel obediently buried herself into Ash’s chest.
Although void of any memories, this sensation… seemed not too bad either.
“You are a very dangerous woman,” Ash whispered softly in her ear: “Dazzling and captivating, your emotions so intense and wild. If it were me, I would be hopelessly enchanted by you, willing to sacrifice everything, even if it meant ruin.”
“I even wonder whether the reason we’ve come to this place is to lure those two here and deal with them, then we could live together without any worries forever.”
Diya, still fighting against the spider silk, froze, lying on the ground and gazing at Ash’s silhouette. Just as Sonia tried to stand up again, she fell to the ground once more, and for some reason, it felt especially painful this time, as if tears were about to brim over.
Denzel’s calm face finally showed a trace of delight, “I’m glad you can understand my decision.”
“But,” Ash hugged Denzel tightly, “that’s absolutely impossible because…”
“I know I’m not the type of man who can be ruthless.”
Pfft. The Witch laughed for some reason, but no one paid attention to her laughter, because–
Fwsh!
Blue flames ignited on Ash’s body, Denzel tried to break free, but found herself completely overpowered by Ash, now boosted by his class!
Not just in strength, the four layers of armor that protected her felt as if they were mere air, effortlessly breached by Ash, leaving her almost bare under his control!
Armor effortlessly penetrated by blue flames… This was the ability to ignore armor!
The blue flame condensed and solidified, transforming into the armor upon Ash’s body, arming him as a Stellar Warrior!
Star Hall*Meteor Warrior!
Ash squatted slightly, leaned his waist back, his upper body taking Denzel down with him–
Back slam!
Thump!
The passionate bass reverberated through the entire cabin, the surrounding furniture trembling in a chorus of applause.
Denzel felt the world spinning, and when she came to her senses, she found herself pinned under Ash. Ash pressed his elbow against her neck, speaking earnestly, “Undo their weaving.”
“Just kill me,” she said.
“Hm?”
“If you insist on protecting them, then kill me.” Denzel’s voice remained even, “I won’t regret it nor change my decision. Right now, you are my lover, and they are my enemies. Only one of us can live–now, the choice is yours.”
“We don’t even have our memories now, can’t we–”
“Do you really rely on those frozen cliches?” Denzel said, “If we were to lose our memories from now on, and could only start from this moment, would you choose to be with me, abandoning them in this cabin?”
Ash fell silent for a moment. Denzel, wearing an eyepatch, seemed to already see everything, and spoke with a tinge of disappointment, “It seems you have already made your choice.”
“Actually, my deduction isn’t finished yet.”
Ash suddenly said, “Although it’s highly likely we’re in an intimate relationship, but… not all your intimate partners have to be me.”
“Lover, haven’t you noticed that it was only after seeing that painting that you remembered you had the ability of ‘Peeping Secret’? That is your special title.”
Denzel was stunned, “You mean–”
“Your true love may not be me,” Ash glanced at Diya behind him, “It could also be her.”
“If we were to lose all our memories after leaving the cabin, then you certainly won’t regret going on a killing spree now. But what if you’ve killed them, and after leaving the cabin, you find that the one you love in your heart has become a dead person, would you then feel regret?”
Denzel fell into silence.
Ash breathed a sigh of relief and pressed on to breach Denzel’s defenses, “You see, killing here could potentially cause irreversible negative outcomes, but helping someone here will only result in positive gains. Even if you help your enemy by mistake, you can seek retribution after regaining your memory. There’s no need for us to come into conflict–”
“What about a lover then?” Denzel suddenly said, “The Knight, the sister, they have all appeared in my title, but the only one missing is the lover. If I kill her, there should be no risk, right?”
Ash fell silent for a moment, then nodded, “Yes.”
Sonia was taken aback. She didn’t try to crawl back up, didn’t scream, didn’t beg for mercy. Instead, like a little girl under a great tree, she stubbornly looked down at the wood patterns, refusing to make any gestures to suggest anything to Ash.
“But she’s my lover now, and I am her Knight,” Ash said earnestly, “Could you give me this favor?”
“Why not just kill me, then?”
“Because you’re now my lover, and–” Ash tilted his head, “I don’t want to feel regret either.”
Denzel and Ash looked at each other, separated by an eyepatch. After three breaths, she nodded slightly, “Okay, but you owe me one.”
“I will repay it.”
When Ash pulled Denzel up, the Spider Silk that bound Sonia and Diya also silently dispersed.
The four pairs of eyes met each other’s gaze. Sonia, who had just been embarrassingly ensnared by the Spider Web, naturally did not have a pleasant expression. Even Diya dared to glare at Denzel secretly. However, Denzel’s expression remained unchanged as if she had no intention of apologizing.
Ash let out a sigh, wondering if building this castle in the air was a mistake, but steeled himself to stand between them, “Can we just answer the question, please?”
Hearing the plea in Ash’s voice, Sonia gave him a harsh glare and sat down reluctantly. Diya bit hard on Ash’s hand and then blew on it, showing that she was also very angry, and sat next to Sonia.
“Ah? Is it over?” The Witch seemed a bit dissatisfied, “Then let’s start with the question.”
At that point, the three looked at Denzel. Ash asked, “Do you know the answer to this question?”
Denzel nodded and activated her ‘Peeping Secret’ ability, the Spider Silk eyepatch covering her eyes shimmering with a glimmering purple glow.
“My answer is–her.”
…
Vatican Mura, Senheiser family district.
“It’s already three o’clock, Ash’s connection to the Void Realm is stable,” Banjee reported as he returned, “It seems that the Happiness and Comfort Office hasn’t taken action tonight.”
“Or perhaps they have already been routed,” Hanna, lying in bed with a facial mask, said, “Underestimating Ash could lead to a major loss.”
“But Mr. Heath isn’t listed on any chart…”
“He is, and he’s first,” Hanna said with her eyes closed, “You don’t really think I’m the creator of the first place on the ‘Art Chart’, do you?”
“But it could also be the effects of your arrangements…”
“If it were the effects of those arrangements, then why aren’t Igula and the others on it?” Hanna said, “Since the Gospel has chosen Ash, it means there’s something exceptional about him that we do not know. Maybe there will be a surprise from Ash in the news tomorrow morning.”
“You go rest. I’m going to enter the Void Realm too.”
Banjee nodded, carefully closed the door without making a sound. Hanna lay on her bed for a while; she didn’t call upon the Technique Spirit to open the Gate of Truth, but summoned the Gospel Book instead.
“Let’s confirm the plan one more time…” the young lady murmured softly; with a gentle tap on the Gospel Book, the remaining points in her account started depleting at an alarming rate.
At the same time, her eyes were covered by a Spider Silk eyepatch.
This was the Doran family’s biggest secret, a treasure the Senheiser family desired but could never have.
And it was Hanna’s card up her sleeve that gave her the audacity to blaspheme against the Divine Lord!
“Account: Denzel Doran.”
“Password: Denzel Miller Clement Joseph… Lex Hanna.”
“Verification complete, welcome back, Your Majesty.”
“Burn the name of Doran, shatter the Web of the Gospel!” Hanna’s voice became distant and cold as if borrowing someone else’s voice, “Let me see further into the future.”
