Chapter 632: Chapter 632: The Priest’s Charms (8)
Boom–
The sound collided with the mountain peak, echoed back, and lingered for a long time.
In the forest, the clear sound of bells paused slightly.
A cluster of bushes was pushed aside, and a large black dog leaped out first, shook its fur, then looked towards the bushes.
The bell sound resumed, and a young boy emerged from the bushes, looking in the direction from which the sound came.
“Master, it seems someone is fighting.”
The rustling of the bushes, a white figure leaped out of them, the embroidery on the hem of the clothing glowing faintly in the dark, outlining the distinct patterns–holy and pure.
Slender fingers like bamboo shoots parted the bushes, and the man walked out slowly.
“Dark Element.” the man murmured softly.
“Huh?” The boy seemed as though he had heard wrong, looking towards the white figure, “Dark Element? Is it here too?”
“Let’s go take a look.” the man’s voice flowed calmly like the clearest spring water in the mountains.
“Yes, Master.” The boy clearly couldn’t wait, and ran straight ahead.
Yi Cun barked, wanting to follow the young boy but then turned to look at the man, as if it didn’t dare to leave, and the whole dog seemed subdued.
“Go ahead.” the man said softly.
Yi Cun’s subdued demeanor was swept away in an instant, and it chased after the young boy at a run.
The man stood in place for a moment, then lifted his foot to walk over there.
–
Gale Leopards were gathered around Chuzheng, the woman was being supported by a middle-aged man; her veiled hat had disappeared revealing an extremely beautiful face.
There were traces of blood slowly seeping from the corners of the woman’s mouth, indicating that she had suffered a disadvantage just now.
The middle-aged man fed the woman a magic potion, then turned to look at Chuzheng, “You are a Dark Series Magician.”
Chuzheng was about to answer when suddenly, the sound of bells rang out.
Then a figure burst forth.
The figure had not yet stabilized when a large dog also leaped out.
The Gale Leopards sensed something, their fur standing on end, low growls emanating from their throats, and their defensive circle gradually tightened around Chuzheng.
“Woof!!!”
Yi Cun steadied itself, saw Chuzheng in the middle of the Gale Leopards, and immediately started furiously barking at Chuzheng.
It was her!
She stole my collar!
The young boy seemed to understand Yi Cun’s barks, looking over at Chuzheng.
The sudden appearance of a half-grown child and a dog made the scene suddenly eerie.
“Woof woof woof!” Give me back my collar!
Yi Cun bared its teeth and howled at Chuzheng.
Chuzheng looked on emotionlessly.
“Woof…” Yi Cun’s voice suddenly weakened until only whining was left.
The young boy was surprised; could Yi Cun be afraid of her?
This was a truly strange thing.
Apart from being afraid of his master, he had never seen Yi Cun afraid of anyone else.
Master!
The young boy slapped his forehead, turned, and dashed back into the bushes, the sound of his bells receding and disappearing into the darkness.
Everyone: “…”
What was that all about?
Had they been hallucinating just now?
No!
It wasn’t a hallucination.
Because the large dog that came out with that young boy was still there.
After a moment, they heard the bell sound again.
From far to near.
The bushes rustled.
The young boy appeared once more, but behind him, there was also a white figure.
The patterns on the hem of his clothing shimmered with a faint light, casting the silhouette of the man’s tall and upright figure.
His features were delicately chiseled, with a silver-white lotus blossom mark between his eyebrows. Under his long, fine lashes were eyes that seemed clear and elegant, as if seeing through the mortal world and untouched by its dust.
His nose was high and straight, his sensuous thin lips slightly parted–but not in a way that provoked additional thought. It was as if everything about him was sacred and pure, inviolable.
There was a sense of tranquil profundity about him, like a recluse who had stepped out of the mountains. One couldn’t help but relax in his presence.
The large dog began to wag its tail excitedly, as if the backer it needed had arrived, changing the entire dog’s demeanor.
It was the perfect embodiment of the phrase “a dog taking advantage of its master’s power.”
“Woof woof woof woof!” The master is this person, he stole my collar! Revenge! I must have revenge!
“What are you doing here?” the man asked, his sexy thin lips parting slightly.
“Priest… Priest Lord.” The middle-aged man could hardly believe what he was seeing.
After a moment, he reacted, hurriedly bowing his head and pulling the entranced woman beside him down as well.
“We’ve seen Priest Lord.”
The woman, forced to bow, lost sight of that peerlessly graceful figure and instantly felt a bit disgruntled.
However, before she could react, the words of the middle-aged man echoed in her mind.
Priest Lord?
There was only one Priest Lord in this world.
And that was the master of the Temple of Light…
He, he was the Priest Lord?
The woman’s heartbeat began to thud wildly in her chest.
“The master is asking what you are doing here,” the young boy repeated the Priest Lord’s words.
“Jiu Qu, do not be rude,” the man said in a soft voice.
The boy stuck out his tongue: “Jiu Qu knows his mistake.”
“Priest Lord, this young lady has an important matter to report,” the woman said, speaking before the middle-aged man could, her palm clenching tightly with nervousness and excitement.
Priest… This is the Priest.
If she could perform well in front of the Priest, her chances of entering the Temple of Light would be greater.
Once inside the Temple of Light, wouldn’t she be able to see the Priest every day?
And Chuzheng, that Dark Series Magician, would be a perfect stepping stone.
At this thought, the woman could hardly contain her excitement.
“What is the matter.”
Suppressing the excitement in her heart, the woman pointed her slender hand towards Chuzheng: “This person, she is a Dark Series Magician, and she ambushed us just a moment ago.”
The Priest Lord’s gaze shifted towards Chuzheng.
“Dark Series Magician…” the man murmured softly.
Jiu Qu seemed to want to say something but was halted by a raise of the man’s hand.
“Yes, she is a Dark Series Magician, Priest Lord. We have witnessed with our own eyes that she used Dark Series Magic.”
Chuzheng, standing with her arms crossed on a slightly higher ground, asked in an even tone, “On what basis do you claim that I am a Dark Series Magician?”
“I saw you use Dark Series Magic!” the woman exclaimed, glaring at Chuzheng: “You are a Dark Series Magician. Priest Lord, she truly is a Dark Series Magician.”
The Priest Lord stood with his sleeves gathered, his aura outlining him in sacred purity, yet with a touch of gentleness.
Chuzheng asked, “Which of your eyes saw it?”
“Both my eyes saw it.”
“Oh,” Chuzheng responded with an indifferent face, “but how can you prove that you actually saw it? Can your eyes replay the scene from just now? They cannot. So how can you guarantee you’re not framing me with false accusations?”
The woman: “…”
What kind of argument is that?
Isn’t she the witness herself?
Why should she have to prove what she saw?
But thinking about it more carefully… it seemed to make sense.
The woman gritted her teeth and turned once again to the Priest Lord: “Priest Lord, this young lady would not dare to lie. There are so many of us here who saw her use Dark Series Magic.”
She paused, then urgently added, “Priest Lord, please feel for yourself, there must still be remnants of the Dark Element here!!”
Chuzheng stood fearlessly among the Gale Leopard pack, looking up at the Priest’s eyes with neither servility nor haughtiness.
His eyes were really beautiful.
Even under the cover of Black Night, they appeared clear and untainted.
