Chapter 415: Chapter 415: Luo An: Feeling the Joy of Financial Power

The house belonging to Luo An’s parents is within this region; however, due to the high property prices in this area, after his mother’s sudden death, Luo An, who hadn’t started college yet, was unable to pay the hefty inheritance taxes. Consequently, the large villa was naturally confiscated and auctioned off by the Boston government.

Arriving in Boston by plane with Mona, knowing that the current owner of the villa had gone bankrupt six months earlier and was selling the property, Luo An did not hesitate to contact a realtor and spent over six million US dollars to repurchase the villa.

The interior of the villa was no longer as Luo An remembered it. Fortunately, before he had to leave the villa, Luo An had rented a long-term storage space in the suburbs of Boston where he stored his parents’ belongings as well as his own personal items.

At that time, Luo An had also taken many photos of the villa’s old layout. After buying back the property, he immediately contacted a construction team to renovate the villa according to the layout in the photos.

But when he saw Mona stuffing the turkey with a bunch of oddly-scented, messy stuff, Luo An had made up his mind not to eat this turkey tonight, so he purposefully distracted Mona earlier.

Mona sniffed, walked up to Luo An, inspected him carefully, and seeing that his expression hadn’t changed at all, she hummed lightly and nodded in agreement:

“OK, I’ll go upstairs and change.”

With that, Mona playfully slapped Luo An’s bottom and then ran laughing toward the staircase.

“You dare to hit me?”

Grinning, Luo An turned around, leaning on his cane, and shouted:

“Don’t run, let me hit you back!”

“I won’t!”

These past few days Luo An had been drinking numerous physical potions, and all his wounds were healed; his fractured left leg and shoulder were almost fully recovered, and his broken left arm was also healing rapidly.

However, to avoid drawing attention, Luo An still used a cane and kept his left arm in a plaster sling on his chest.

It always takes a woman some time to pick clothes and do her makeup. Over an hour later, Luo An and Mona finally drove away from the villa, headed to a restaurant which Luo An reserved again using his financial capacity.

Luo An now increasingly realized how handy cash was in the federation; apart from the expense, all that was left was joy.

This time it wasn’t Luo An driving but Mona, in an orange sports car, the Dodge Hellcat.

Aside from that explosion incident, Luo An hadn’t driven a sports car before, so curious about what it felt like to drive one-handed, he directly bought this cat.

However, since his left arm was really in plaster and couldn’t move, Mona had to drive during this period.

At the entrance of a well-known restaurant in Boston, the orange Hellcat attracted a lot of attention from passersby. Mona, dressed in a silver gown showing off her curves, got out of the car, then walked over to the passenger side, opened the door, and reached out her hand to Luo An, looking up and saying:

They had just settled down at their reserved spot when several dishes were served. Luo An forked a piece of turkey, tasted it, and then never touched that dish again.

Luo An felt it was very dry and not tasty; Mona, on the other hand, found it quite good and ate enjoyably.

Taking a sip of red wine, Luo An grabbed the mischievous thing rubbing against his calf, trapped it between his legs, and said softly:

“Today is Christmas, I wonder how the other members of the Special Investigation Team are doing.”

Mona’s expression stiffened slightly, she tugged hard but realized she couldn’t pull herself free, so she stopped trying and answered:

“I spoke to them this morning; as always, they are all busy with their own things.”

Michelle stayed alone in her rental, reading books, but bought a turkey for dinner at the restaurant.

The background of Reesi’s call was incredibly noisy; she said there was a party tonight full of young girls and she planned to go all out, hoping to spend the night with two or three of them.

Chenier, having no relatives or friends in Los Angeles, took a flight back to her parents’ home in Mississippi the day after she got the vacation and spent Christmas with her parents.

Winslow had been married before, with an ex-wife and a young son, his ex-wife now having started a new family with someone else.

Fortunately, Winslow and his ex-wife were still on good terms, and he spent a joyful day with his son on Christmas Day. In the evening, he used the bonus he received from the Special Investigation Team to buy a bunch of gifts for his son and then delivered him back to his ex-wife’s place.

As for Christmas night, Winslow had recently met a female coffee shop owner; they had arranged to have dinner together tonight…

“Luo An!”

Seeing Mona as if wanting to bite him to death, Luo An chuckled, stopped his actions, and started to properly taste the dishes.

A Christmas tradition, and also a Christmas hat.

It was a red hat, said to not only offer a cozy and warm night’s sleep but also, one would find a gift from a beloved person inside it the next morning.

Luo An and Mona had both prepared gifts for each other, but they weren’t willing to wait till the next day to look. After finishing dinner and returning to the villa to rest for a bit, the two began to check what gifts they had received from each other.
