After the two soldiers carried Lan Tian away, Chiliarch Ling looked at Zhao Gao sternly and said. “Your attack was too strong. His ribs were shattered and his internal organs were bleeding badly.”

Zhao Gao was perturbed, but he looked innocently at Chiliarch Ling, “I didn’t know he was so weak! I merely kicked out lightly.”

“Besides, this is my first time fighting with someone. I don’t know how much strength I should exert!”

But when that person saw Chiliarch Ling looking at him, he turned away in fear and pretended to run towards his opponent.

“Sigh! Coward.” Chiliarch Ling sighed to himself, and stopped looking at him.

“How about this? Considering the huge disparity between your strength and theirs, I’ll specially arrange an opponent for you!”

“Thank you Chiliarch Ling!” Zhao Gao said happily, cupping his fists.

“Hmph! I hope you can still smile later!” Chiliarch Ling said with a smirk, and ignored Zhao Gao.

“Adjutant Qian, come here!” Chiliarch Ling waved at his adjutant, gesturing for him to go over.

Adjutant Qian jogged over and said in a low voice, “Chiliarch Ling, what are your orders?”

“It’s no big deal. It’s just that he doesn’t have any opponents to train with. Hence, you can train with him!” Chiliarch Ling pointed at Zhao Gao and explained to the adjutant.

Adjutant Qian turned to look at Zhao Gao, and replied. “Yes, Chiliarch Ling.”

After saying that, Adjutant Qian removed the saber from his waist and threw it aside.

With a whoosh, the saber and sheath were thrown onto the ground 10 meters away. They went three feet deep into the ground.

“Come on, kid!” Adjutant Qian extended his hand towards Zhao Gao and called out.

Zhao Gao said solemnly, “Do excuse me!”

“Bang!” Zhao Gao immediately stamped on the ground and used the counterforce to run towards Adjutant Qian at a fast speed.

However, Adjutant Qian seemed to have foreseen this. Without even turning his head, he avoided Zhao Gao’s punch and instead, struck his right elbow into Zhao Gao’s chest.

Zhao Gao used his free left palm to block the elbow strike, while changing the tactical use of his right fist.

He opened his right palm and came down on Adjutant Qian’s neck.

Adjutant Qian reacted quickly too. He grabbed Zhao Gao’s wrist with his left hand, turned around, and punched Zhao Gao’s abdomen with his right fist.

Zhao Gao quickly formed a claw with his left hand and clawed at Adjutant Qian’s wrist. If this strike landed well, Adjutant Qian’s wrist might have to rest for a long time.

But Adjutant Qian’s reaction was not slow at all. As he observed Zhao Gao’s attack and simultaneous defense, he began to change tactics.

He retracted his palms and pushed towards Zhao Gao’s arms from the inside, deflecting his attack.

Zhao Gao instantly took a step back. He then raised his right leg and kicked towards Adjutant Qian’s head.

However, Adjutant Qian only needed to raise his arm in order to block Zhao Gao’s attack. As he did so, he also grabbed Zhao Gao’s ankle at the same time.

Zhao Gao’s pupils constricted when he realized that he had been tricked and had fallen into Adjutant Qian’s trap.

Using his ankle as a pivot point, his other leg kicked towards Adjutant Qian’s chest.
