Chapter 1763: Chapter 1763: Realm God Divine Sword? Not Impressed (2/5)
The ruins have opened.
Countless people poured into the ruins.
Of course, the ruins have restrictions in terms of realms.
Only those below the Domain God Realm can enter, which naturally excludes the Domain God Realm itself.
The highest realm allowed is the Half-step Domain God.
And the moment they entered the ruins–
The scene before everyone began to twist and spin, as if the sky and the earth were whirling, pulling the cultivators stepping through the entrance into an endless space.
The members of The Cottage gazed at the pitch-black void before them, all frowning slightly.
According to Chu Xinghe, the first trial of the Chaos Divine Dynasty tests human nature. This trial has no standard answer, and almost everyone can pass.
The only difference lies in the answer, which determines the zone one is sent to.
But what kind of test could be hidden in this darkness?
Just as everyone was wondering–
The darkness in front of them transformed again!
The scene turned into a blood-colored land, with swords and blades wedged into the cracks of the earth. Skeletons and corpses formed the primary visuals of this space.
However, amidst the desolate, blood-drenched wasteland, one object was distinct–at the center stood a sword thrust into the ground.
Of course, this was only the sight that Ye Qiubai and some other sword cultivators saw.
In front of others, the object at the center varied widely.
In Hong Ying’s field of view, there was a spear.
Before Ning Chenxin lay a book.
In Blackie’s case, it was a halberd.
Shi Sheng faced an axe.
…
It felt like an illusion, yet it was utterly real–from the oppressive aura of death filling the air to the tactile sense upon touching the ground.
Was this the trial?
Suddenly, a voice transmission came through.
“Everyone, describe the scenes on your side?”
It was Mu Fusheng speaking.
As expected, the voice transmission jade pendants crafted by the master were impressive–even in such a place, they could bypass restrictions, allowing all members of The Cottage to communicate.
And so, Ye Qiubai and the disciples of The Cottage described their surroundings.
All were in blood-colored lands, strewn with bones and skeletons.
The only difference was the objects at the center of the land.
“So, this isn’t an illusion–it’s merely the space differing for each person,” Mu Fusheng analyzed. “According to Senior Chu, the trial of human nature must have begun.”
Ye Qiubai nodded, saying, “Then should we proceed in the same way? That way, we might be sent to the same zone.”
Mu Fusheng thought for a moment before transmitting back, “I think it’d be better to split up. The Xuanyuan Clan members are unlikely to end up in the same zone. If we separate, we might uncover more clues.”
After a brief pause, Mu Fusheng added, “But… I hope First Brother and Blackie Senior are a bit more cautious. Who knows what traps lie ahead?”
Ye Qiubai asked, confused, “I’m not cautious?”
Blackie asked, equally perplexed, “I’m not cautious?”
The disciples communicating via the voice transmission jade pendants fell silent: “…”
Ah right, right, you’re both absolutely correct.
The transmission ended.
Ye Qiubai headed towards the sword thrust into the center of the wasteland.
When he was within a hundred meters of it–
Clatter-clatter.
The surrounding skeletons started clawing their way out of the ground, swinging at Ye Qiubai!
However, these skeletal enemies didn’t seem very strong, merely at the Demigod Realm level.
Though their numbers were high, Ye Qiubai quickly cleared them using his Sword Domain.
Not much time passed before he successfully reached the longsword embedded in the ground. Ye Qiubai frowned in slight confusion, murmuring to himself: “So easy? The trials of the Chaos Divine Dynasty shouldn’t be this simple.”
The previous two inheritance sites of the Green Cloud Sword Master had trials that were far from straightforward.
This trial seemed unusually easy by comparison.
Still skeptical, Ye Qiubai wrapped his hand around the longsword’s hilt–and was immediately startled to find a faint, ethereal bloodline coiling around his hand.
It quickly disappeared under his skin.
In that instant, Ye Qiubai could clearly sense a subtle connection between himself and the sword.
Before Ye Qiubai could ponder further, the scene twisted again!
The blood-colored land vanished, along with the mountains of corpses and seas of blood.
In their place appeared a palace looming close before him.
Above the colossal arching palace gates hung a plaque.
The plaque bore no inscriptions.
At this point, Ye Qiubai was still completely at a loss.
He couldn’t comprehend what was happening, or the nature of the trial.
Suddenly–
The ground beneath him shook violently, causing Ye Qiubai’s body to stagger.
The hand gripping the longsword suddenly felt as if pierced by needles, filling him with sharp pain. The sword fell from his grasp.
It dropped into a bottomless fissure right before him.
Ye Qiubai frowned slightly and was about to sense the sword’s location, intending to retrieve it.
Out of nowhere, a beam of white light shot upward!
Ye Qiubai stepped back two paces.
What appeared before him was an illusory elder, carrying a sword.
The elder wore a kindly smile, his form translucent, yet his pupils gleamed with sharp intent.
“Young man, just now a sword fell–is it yours?”
Ye Qiubai gazed at the sword in the elder’s hand with a flash of surprise in his eyes.
This sword harbored Dao runes imbued with the Sword Dao Power of Law–at least at the Realm God level of Divine Swords.
Then, the elder smiled again and said, “If it’s yours, I shall return it to you.”
With that, the elder extended the sword towards Ye Qiubai.
Yet Ye Qiubai didn’t think twice before shaking his head, replying, “It’s not mine. The sword that fell wasn’t mine either–it was merely something I just picked up.”
The elder retracted the sword, a trace of surprise flickering across his face. “Oh? While it isn’t yours, this is a Realm God-level Divine Sword. A slight falsehood could make it yours. Why not accept?”
“For someone of your realm, a sword of this level should be something you deeply desire, correct?”
Ye Qiubai smiled, shaking his head again. “What’s not mine is ultimately not mine. If an ownerless item requires passing certain trials to obtain, I wouldn’t mind taking it.”
The elder nodded with approval, about to say something.
But Ye Qiubai continued calmly, “Moreover, I wouldn’t say this is something I deeply desire. I already have two swords–one that ranks on par with this one, and another that surpasses it by several levels.”
When he finished speaking–
Ye Qiubai revealed the Yuncang Sword and Green Cloud Sword.
The elder glanced at the Yuncang Sword, a flicker of astonishment passing through his eyes. He seemed pleased, casting a delighted gaze at Ye Qiubai.
However… when his eyes landed on the Green Cloud Sword, he froze.
Despite being nothing but a remnant soul, he could discern the extraordinary nature of the Green Cloud Sword.
At the very least… while he was alive, he had never encountered a sword of such caliber.
No wonder Ye Qiubai had no interest in the Realm God-level sword he held…
The elder sighed helplessly, his hand making a motion to summon the longsword Ye Qiubai had just acquired to him. Handing it back to Ye Qiubai, he disappeared.
Only his voice lingered: “You shall enter Shanshui Hall. Remember, the sword you now hold is a mandatory condition for obtaining the Sun and Moon Token. Do not lose it under any circumstance.”
