Chapter 37: Big Brother’s Kitty

Xu Ciye knew immediately from the cat’s reaction that the little brat was here at his office.

Before he could think of anything, he quickly took a few steps back to create some distance between him and the cat!

As if he was afraid that the little demon king would misunderstand that he did something to his pet cat.

However, a pink figure ran past him.

The little girl with twin-tails ran with her two stubby legs towards the cat.

Her eyes were filled with anxiety when she saw that the white cat was going to dart out of the door. “Kitty don’t run! It’s dangerous outside!” she warned.

Xu Ciye’s heart skipped a beat when he saw her run in the direction of the door. He then started fearing for his life. “Lili, come back! Stop chasing the cat!”

He stumbled forwards in a desperate attempt to pull the little girl back, but he was too far from the door! He wasn’t going to make it!

In the next second, they watched as that the cat meowed towards the door a few times, before happily…

Jumping in a certain direction!

The cat, however, was caught by the little girl when it was still in mid-air.

The little girl looked up with her round eyes, and only then did she realize that there were some people outside.

A lot of people outside.

A group of bodyguards in black surrounded a black-haired boy, whom they seemed to be guarding.

The boy was wheelchair-bound. He had a thin physique but he was tall. His face was pale and elegant, and the way his fingers gracefully criss-crossed gave off the aura of nobility that he was born with.

His long and thick eyelashes were slightly lowered, and his black eyes had an abyssal depth within them.

His red lips formed a smile that was unfathomable. It was a smile that did not feel like a smile. He didn’t even look like a child at all.

The little girl’s body continued traveling forwards as she was unable to stop herself after lunging out too hastily to catch the cat.

Before anyone could even react, the little girl and the cat both fell into the boy’s arms.

And the little girl’s soft little body crashed into the boy’s paralyzed legs.

The bodyguards next to the boy and Xu Ciye, who all failed to stop the girl in time, all inhaled deeply out of fear as they felt their hairs standing on their ends.

Xu Ciye looked at the boy’s emotionless and beautiful face. He couldn’t guess what he was thinking, so he calmed himself down and quickly helped Lu Li up.

“Lili, are you alright? Are you hurt?”

Lu Li held the cat in her arms as she stood up and shook her head. “Uncle, I’m fine,” replied Lu Li.

After saying that, she looked at the boy in front of her. She bowed at him, and used her child-like voice to apologize profusely, “I’m so sorry, big brother! I… I fell into your legs by accident, and it was because I was afraid that the kitty would disappear…”

Before she could finish, the cat in her arms meowed in disagreement as if trying to argue that it wasn’t going to disappear!

The little girl understood what it said. She lowered her head to look at the cat she was holding, and proceeded to scold it with an angry expression, “Kitty, if you run off like that again, I will hit you! If I hit you, it’s going to be painful! Even my daddy is afraid of me!”

The girl did her best in trying to scare the poor little kitty. She even used her daddy as an example while doing so.

Realizing that Pei Xiubai was still silent, Xu Ciye felt even more nervous. Pursing his lips, he quickly said to Lu Li, “Lili, stop messing around now. Give the cat back to him, the cat belongs to this big brother.”
