Chapter 571: Chapter 500: Magic Net System, Creating a Magic Civilization with a Wizard for Everyone!
What is a Wizard?
Up until now, the council had not been able to provide an accurate definition, but generally speaking, individuals who possess the talent to manipulate Magic Power and can master and apply its principles through learning are referred to as Wizards.
Training a formal Wizard is not an easy task; talent alone can eliminate many, with an average training duration of over ten years!
Such significant restrictions, coupled with the lengthy time required, make it difficult to increase the population of Wizards.
Combined, the entire council and the empire have fewer than twenty thousand Wizards.
Lynn’s mass-production Wizard program aimed to develop a new system for Wizard advancement, breaking the limitation of talent so that all the impoverished could have the chance to become Wizards through the acquisition of knowledge.
“Allowing impoverished people without magical talent to become Wizards? How is that possible?” After hearing Lynn’s mass-production Wizard plan, many council members found it somewhat unbelievable.
“Why isn’t it possible?” Lynn countered.
“Without Magic Power, how could they cast magic? Relying solely on a poor man’s weak spiritual power, they probably couldn’t even condense the lowest zero-circle Spell positions,” a tall, thin Grand Wizard spoke up in challenge.
“Then give them Magic Power and help these people condense Spell positions, why not?!” Lynn responded casually.
“Nonsense!” The tall, thin Grand Wizard was so infuriated he nearly exploded.
Give them Magic Power? How? It’s not like they can just eat it like bread and digest it.
Not to mention helping someone condense Spell positions–such an outrageous idea.
Although the Star of Magic Lynn often had some astounding ideas, at least they used to have some logic. This time, it couldn’t be described as ‘astounding.’ It was pure fantasy. By this logic, could not everyone become a Wizard?
Even Rafael and Alade, Grand Wizards familiar with Lynn, furrowed their brows on hearing this.
Lynn, feeling quite helpless, had already outlined the detailed plan in the proposal, but everyone had rushed to give their feedback without reading through it fully, forcing him to shake his head and say,
“Actually, it is possible, and in fact, my initial experiment had already been successful!”
Seeing Lynn’s firm affirmation and even direct mention of preliminary results, the previously noisy meeting room instantly fell silent, as members looked at the Star of Magic skeptically.
“Are you referring to Lydia?” Aurora thought for a moment and quickly guessed who Lynn was talking about.
All members present, of course, knew who Lydia was.
She was the only Halfling Wizard in the entire Magic Kingdom!
Furthermore, Lydia was a disciple of the Star of Magic Lynn, the creator of new weapon airships and warplanes, well-known throughout the whole council!
Everyone knew Halflings had no magical talent, yet Lydia had passed the school’s assessment and could successfully cast magic.
Before Rafael and others had thought she was an exception, as it wasn’t impossible for a race to produce one or two genius individuals.
Only now, listening to Chairperson Aurora, did they all realize that Lydia’s becoming a Wizard was probably due to the experiments Lynn mentioned!
Realizing this, more and more Wizards began paying attention and reviewing the proposals in their hands, while Lynn started to explain.
“I think among you, many have likely read the ‘Analysis and Study Report on Divine Energy’. The Magic Net System I created is based on that false god’s Divine Arts system…”
Priests from the church differ from Wizards; they do not need to study knowledge and even the Divine Power within them is bestowed by “Era”. Their daily task is to engage in specific prayer rituals to train their spirits and deepen their devotion to the lord.
Only the high-ranking personnel such as Cardinals and above need to possess Spiritual Energy talents; ordinary priests and bishops can be anyone with devout faith.
Lynn’s Magic Net System, however, is based not on faith but on knowledge!
In his vision, citizens of the empire could enter public schools to study basic subjects like mathematics, physics, chemistry, and Spell formations. Those who pass the assessments would qualify to be integrated into the Magic Net, using computing power inside and the knowledge acquired in the school to condense Spell positions in the sea of consciousness and become a proud Wizard Apprentice.
Subsequently, they would need to continue into advanced wizarding schools to study more complex subjects. Upon graduation, the Magic Net would grant them higher computing power permissions, enabling them to use some of the lower circle spells just like formal Wizards.
This was the limit. Like the Divine Arts system, an ordinary person without any talents could only go this far even with a lifetime of effort; it was difficult to reach the levels of a Grand Wizard or Cardinal.
Of course, the possibilities in the Magic World are endless; if someone could continue to improve and enhance meditation efficiency, there might be potential for further advancement.
As for those who could not pass the assessments, they naturally had to give up. If they couldn’t even master basic knowledge, it meant they were not suitable to become Wizards. They could transition to becoming technical workers or the like since there was a shortage of people everywhere.
Lynn’s explanation was very detailed, and with Era’s Divine Arts system as a precedent, it was also easy to understand.
If the church was about concentrating everyone’s computing power on Era herself, exploiting it heavily, then the Magic Net was a cooperative platform. Everyone contributes a portion of computing power, providing it to the terminal, forming a tower of sand and then distributing it back out, allowing those who originally could not perform spells to have the ability to do so.
