Chapter 1978: Chapter 873: Valley of the Yellow Wind, A Hundred Years of Exploration_2
Apart from its corrosive nature, the Evil Yellow Black Water can also block the exploration of Divine Consciousness. Even High-level Venerable Sages find it extremely difficult to probe with Tao Thought.
One thousand years ago, Saintly Fierce Venerable paid a visit here. His Divine Thoughts encountered obstruction, and after a lengthy investigation, he left without gaining anything.
Now, Han Yi has arrived, preparing to start the investigation all over again.
His figure slowly approached the major relics on both sides of the Yellow Wind Valley. These two major relics weren’t dangerous; the black-brown earth was extraordinarily hard, entirely devoid of spirit.
Han Yi walked among the major relics, spending a full hour scrutinizing every inch of ground from the inside out.
But there was no harvest.
He switched to another major relic, and this time, probing in the same manner, he finally found something at the most central part, near the edge of the Yellow Wind Valley.
Standing atop the major relic, mere meters away from him was the Yellow Wind Valley. Between his fingertips he held a frail whiff of ki, originally entwined over the edges of the earth, ready to dissipate at any moment.
And this whiff of ki, was indeed from Dongfang He. This point, Han Yi was absolutely certain.
“This trace of ki was probably scattered by the wind from the Yellow Wind Belt.”
“As expected, Dongfang He did come here.”
“As for whether this is the place of his fall, it’s still too early to tell.”
Han Yi had visited Saintly Fierce Venerable who said that it was only through the Causality Divine Skill that he ultimately traced back to the Yellow Wind Valley, where the cause and effect connection broke. After investigating it once, only a thread of ki was found and nothing else.
Thus, Saintly Fierce Venerable was also uncertain whether Dongfang He had fallen here.
Guided by the strand of ki on his fingertip, Han Yi deployed the Karma Technique, but no matter Divine Arts or Heavenly Venerate Skills used, they were all flickering and unstable, without a fixed direction.
Immediately after, he collected the strand of ki and with a determined face, he stepped forward, moving into the Yellow Wind Valley.
Upon entering the true Yellow Wind Valley, a mysterious black color surfaced all over Han Yi’s body. This was the Divine Art of the Chaos God Armor; the ‘Yellow Wind’ blowing around him was blocked by the dark color, leaving him unaffected.
He stretched out his hand and detained a handful of Yellow Wind in his palm. It was then visible that this Yellow Wind actually consisted of numerous particles, faint to the extreme. These particles were comparable to Chaotic Particles, but unlike them, these particles were highly active and bore the terrible attribute of corroding everything.
He withdrew the Divine Art covering his palm, exposing it to the Yellow Wind, and found that the terrifying corrosive Yellow Wind constantly eroded his palm. However, this erosion was extremely slow; it might take millions of years to completely wear away the Physical Body.
With a gentle rub, he obliterated this handful of Yellow Wind in the palm of his hand.
Immediately after, he began to investigate within the Yellow Wind Belt, his search incredibly thorough, sparing not even the deep spaces, going straight into the Ninth Layer Space, tracing to the very bottom.
The Yellow Wind Valley was vast, but for Han Yi, it was not huge. Travelling at full speed, comparable to the pace of High-level Venerable Sages, it would only take ten breaths to go from the valley entrance to the end.
However, Han Yi meticulously investigated countless times, taking a total of three days before ultimately stopping.
And his gains, aside from a few weak strands of ki, were still no other useful discoveries.
Han Yi was not disappointed. Before coming here, he had anticipated that if a discovery could be made quickly, Saintly Fierce Venerable would definitely have found something.
He left the Yellow Wind Valley, standing amidst the Chaos, his gaze flickering, his thoughts surging.
“No, that’s not right.”
“There is a problem. Although the Yellow Wind Valley is dangerous, it poses no fatal harm to Middle-stage Heavenly Venerates.”
“If it were mature Tomb Beasts, it’s indeed possible that Dongfang He might have fallen in a death battle here. However, due to the unique nature of the Yellow Wind Valley, even Tomb Beasts are unwilling to venture into it, and thus, the presence of ki from Tomb Beasts, even if there is any, is not strong.”
“Therefore, if it’s not that someone has wiped clean the traces, then it is possible that Dongfang He stopped in the Yellow Wind Valley for a while before departing far away.”
“If it were Dongfang He leaving, with the abilities of Saintly Fierce Venerable, under Causality Tracing, there would definitely be no mistake, and the investigation would continue to other places.”
“So, the most likely possibility is that someone has erased the traces.”
“To erase all traces and to kill Dongfang He, one must be at least a High-level Venerable Sage, or even, possibly, a Peak Venerable Sage.”
Han Yi’s gaze flickered as he speculated in his heart.
However, speculation is after all just speculation, and it may not necessarily be correct. After all, this Tao Domain is filled with dangers, and there are not a few factors that could cause the fall of a Middle-level Divine Sovereign.
Then, he began to expand his search radius from Yellow Wind Valley as the center. This process lasted for eighteen years before he finally made a substantive discovery.
In a place quite far from Yellow Wind Valley, here lies a shattered region where countless large and small fragments of land float in the air, their boundaries invisible even to the eyes of a Middle-level Divine Sovereign.
This place has actually long been another realm, known as the Shattered Domain.
The fragments of land in the Shattered Domain have drifted over from the entire Burial Disaster Dao Domain and gathered here, as if a force in the dark compelled the continental fragments to converge.
This phenomenon also exists in other Dao Domains, but the scope is not as vast, not covering the entire Dao Domain.
It was in the Shattered Domain that Han Yi found a bloodstained Ancient Artifact Fragment embedded in the cracked rock on one of the fragments.
He used his Divine Thoughts to extract the Ancient Artifact Fragment and inspected it closely. The fragment, roughly the size of a palm, was silver in color and he managed to break off a small piece with force.
“Based on the material, this should be a fragment of a Heavenly Reverence Ancient Artifact.”
Han Yi wiped gently, took a sample of the blood stain from the fragment, and found no trace of Divine Force in the blood stain under the exploration of his Divine Thoughts.
“This blood is not from the Chaos Divine Race, that is to say, it does not belong to Dongfang He.”
Han Yi’s eyes shimmered.
At first glance, this bloodied Ancient Artifact Fragment had no apparent connection with Dongfang He’s demise, but it was the greatest discovery he could find after expanding his search beyond Yellow Wind Valley.
Moreover, the main point was that with his eyesight, he immediately determined that the bloodstains on the Ancient Artifact Fragment had been there for about a thousand years, which corresponded exactly to the time of Dongfang He’s fall.
He did not believe in such a coincidence–that at the same time of Dongfang He’s fall, in the Shattered Domain relatively far from Yellow Wind Valley, a Heavenly Venerate was injured, causing their Ancient Artifact to shatter into pieces.
Although the distance is far, there is a significant possibility of a connection.
Han Yi extracted a faint aura from the bloodstain on the broken Ancient Artifact, but to his disappointment, he found that the aura was inert and could not be used to trace back to its source.
There are two possibilities for this: one is that the Heavenly Venerate is dead, with the aura unable to track back to the corpse, and the second is that a more powerful cultivator shielded it, severing the Cause and Effect.
This ‘more powerful’ refers not just to a High-level Venerable Sage but at least to someone of a Peak Venerable Sage level to have such capability.
In the Taoist Spirit Chaos World, Peak Venerable Sages may be rare, but that’s relative; each Tao Domain is different.
For example, in the Primordial Demon Dao Domain, there are openly eight Peak Demon Venerables. From among them, the first of the Primordial Demon Sect and the First Demon Venerable fell over five thousand years ago, and now only six remain.
The Peak Demon Venerable of the Fu Heng Taoist Area is just one individual cultivator; he has not established any Sect.
Other Dao Domains, like the Heavenly Destiny Dao Domain or the Ancient Netherworld Dao Domain, might have a bit more, but they wouldn’t exceed ten.
The most are found in the Dao God Sect and Ancestral God Star; these two major forces have more than ten Peak Venerable Sages and Peak Divine Sovereign cultivators, which is more than the total in other Dao Domains combined.
Han Yi cannot realistically investigate all Peak Venerable Sages.
He sealed the Ancient Artifact Fragment and the strand of aura that could not be traced back to its source and stored them within his body, then continued to expand his search range.
But after that, he could no longer find any clues.
One hundred years later.
Han Yi stood amidst the Chaos, the surrounding corrosive Chaotic Power ‘slapping’ against his Body Protection Divine Skill and Chaos God Armor, yet they couldn’t shake his figure in the slightest.
However, in his eyes, a touch of disappointment was hard to conceal.
