On their way back, Lin Chuxia said to Su Bei with surprise, “Beibei, the father of your baby seems like a formidable person. Why don’t you find him, stick to him, and get him to marry you? Isn’t that the best of both worlds?”

Su Bei shrugged. “That’s not a bad idea if I can find him.”

Lin Chuxia’s eyes gleamed. “Great. Next, we’ll look for him in full force. I believe that I can find him for you.”

Su Bei was only joking around. She was more concerned with another question. “What did your friend tell you?”

Su Bei felt helpless more often than not in the face of her bestie, who was rather slow. 

“Tell me now. Stop saying useless stuff.”

Lin Chuxia broke into a wide smile before she withdrew it instantly. “He said you can stop wasting your time. Besides Liang City, the hospitals in the entire country will not perform an abortion on you. I asked him why. He said the father of this child forbade it. Don’t you think this is infuriating? Who the hell is the father? The President?”

Su Bei suddenly thought of the cunning and overbearing eyes of that man.

That day, he had let her off.

But, it turns out that she could not escape from his clutches after all.

Winter arrived while Su Bei sat on the tatami before the window. She was leaning against it, watching the snow swirling outside.

She was feeling exhausted due to the little thing in her tummy recently.

“Fine. Take care of yourself when you’re outside. One more thing, your elder brother is getting along with Qin Yan. They suggested getting a house and preparing for engagement. Didn’t you say you’ll pay for the first installment when he gets a house?”

“Got it, Mom. Get him to look for a house, and I’ll pay for him.”

The mention of her elder brother caused Su Bei to shiver in her boots.

She could not help thinking about what happened that day.
