Without waiting for her reply, he continued, “That table is expensive.”

Su Bei had been bottling up her anger at home for the entire day. Standing here an entire hour for no reason at all made her fume all over the place.

As she heard Hua Jinan say that the table is precious, slapping her head on the table was simply not enough to relieve her anger. She stood up and gave the table a few hard stomps.

Hua Jinan looked at her, smiling, and said calmly, “My computer’s even more expensive!”

Then he quickly stood up and watched as Su Bei smashed his computer on the ground.

After she finished destroying the computer, Su Bei looked at him menacingly while panting heavily. “I can’t afford it. That’s why you’d better promise that you would not bother me in the future. Or else, I’m gonna destroy your entire house. I don’t have any money. I just have one life.”

Hua Jinan shook his head, and he smiled with dark eyes looking at her. “I don’t want your life. I want the baby!”

Su Bei then grabbed a vase and rushed towards Hua Jinan. “It’s a priceless treasure that came from the Tang Dynasty!”

With a smashing sound, the vase was shattered to pieces.

Su Bei looked at Hua Jinan, waiting for his anguish and rage.

However, Hua Jinan looked at Su Bei tenderly, and said, “Be careful. Don’t hurt yourself.”

Su Bei became even angrier. “You’d better stop with those crocodile tears. You’re probably extremely pissed right now!”

Hua Jinan looked at all the china in his cupboard. “It’s okay. It’s okay. All the best ones are here.”

The next thing he knew, Su Bei was holding up a peony vase and looking at him. “This is from the Qianlong era, right?”

Hua Jinan hugged herself while leaning against the frame of the mahogany cupboard, his face grinning. “You have great taste. That is the real deal.”

“Can you promise not to harass me anymore?” Su Bei said threateningly.

“Alright, I will stop, but I’ll have to marry you then!” Hua Jinan replied.

Su Bei released the vase, and the precious vase from the Qianlong era turned to shards.

Su Bei grabbed another gold-plated bottle and said, “You better stop it. I really am not as nice as you imagined. If only you were willing to go out and find them, there would be plenty of women who would bear your child!”

Hua Jinan lowered his head and laughed. “But I just want you!”

Su Bei was on the verge of breaking down. She smashed the bottle forcefully onto the ground.

Her eyes looked at Hua Jinan deeply. “You don’t mind me breaking all of your precious china into pieces?”

Hua Jinan shook his head. “If you promise to marry me, I’ll even let you burn down the entire house!”

Su Bei had broken down completely!

“This one’s more expensive. Do you want to hear the difference between their sounds?”

Su Bei snatched it over and played with it. “You really don’t mind me doing this?”

“As long as you are happy!” The man’s voice was deep and enticing, and it stirred a strange sense of warmth in her.

Su Bei put the baby pillow down and looked outside the window. A bitterness entered her heart.

“What happened? What’s wrong with you?” the man asked gently.

Su Bei did not know why tears were falling from her eyes.

Looking at her shaking body, Hua Jinan started to frown.

He walked to her side and gave her some napkins, then put his hand on her shoulder. “Don’t cry. There’s nothing that can’t be solved in this world.”

He gently pinched her shoulder, then released his grip. He wanted to give her strength, but it just made her cry louder.

Su Bei cried until she was unable to speak. At that moment, she felt that she was the most despicable person in the world!

Even consolations from an unknown stranger would reduce her to tears.
