Chapter 1415: 1314, Internal Meeting
Eight minutes later, Journeyman * Gride entered a virtual meeting room on the public network. This meeting room was exclusively used by the Defense Force’s senior officers.
At the center of the meeting room, Legion Commander Daland * Manley stood silently.
Other ministers and higher-ranking officers were all present.
Everyone already knew what had just happened, and they all looked towards the direction of the Legion Commander, waiting for him to speak.
However, even though they were looking in the Legion Commander’s direction, they were not actually focusing on him.
The majority of their gazes were fixed on the person standing beside the Legion Commander.
Journeyman was no exception.
After entering the virtual meeting room, his gaze briefly swept over the Legion Commander and swiftly landed on the individual standing beside him.
This individual was a Stone Man with a red and blue hue–Retdoz!
Retdoz was standing right next to the Legion Commander, at the closest distance. Undoubtedly, he was specifically invited by the Legion Commander.
Because his presence here was so unexpected, that’s why everyone’s attention was on him.
Facing so many eyes, Retdoz felt a bit pressured.
Despite his burly appearance, he stood as meek as a well-behaved child, not daring to even breathe loudly.
…
Journeyman was the last one to enter the virtual meeting room.
Seeing Journeyman’s arrival, Legion Commander Daland spoke up, “Now that everyone has arrived, let’s start.”
His authoritative gaze swept over every officer in the meeting room, and finally rested on Stone Man Retdoz: “Retdoz, you go first. Does Su Yu really have the thing he claimed to have?”
Daland had already found out that it was Retdoz and Su Yu who held the press conference together, so he specifically “invited” this Stone Man over.
The other officers also turned their attentive gazes towards Retdoz.
“Absolutely true!” Retdoz confidently answered, “The item does exist. Moreover, it has already been transferred to me, and is currently in my possession.”
“In your possession?” Daland wore a look of surprise: “He trusts you that much? And is it really a Planet level four Dark Thunder Dragon Corpse?”
“Certainly and without a doubt!” Retdoz asserted with seriousness, “Furthermore, the Dragon Corpse is indeed intact as Su Yu described it, without any exaggeration.”
“!!!”
The meeting room fell into utter silence.
But despite the silence, there was a frenzy of private messaging going on beneath the surface:
“It really is a Stellar Grade Existence’s gift!”
“What kind of incredible luck does this Su Yu have to come across something like this?!”
“I’ve lived over 2000 years and have never heard of anyone being this lucky.”
“This is ridiculously divine fortune!”
…
While private messages were exchanged frenetically, the virtual meeting room itself was eerily quiet.
After a few seconds of silence, a ministerial-level officer finally broke it.
The speaker was the current Minister of Logistics of the Defense Force, Megan * Gran.
He saluted Legion Commander Daland, then asked, “Legion Commander sir, if Su Yu indeed received a gift from a Planet Level Great Power, then who is this Great Power? Is it Acting Speaker Lemo, sir?”
Hearing his question, other ministers were immediately taken aback.
That was an excellent question!
Currently in the Hub, probably only Acting Speaker could kill a fourth order Dark Thunder Dragon so effortlessly. The other Stellar Grade Entities, even the Legion Commander, were unable to do so.
Could it be him?
If it was indeed Acting Speaker who took action, then they would have to reassess their relationship with Su Yu.
“…” Legion Commander Daland stroked the whiskers on his chin in thought.
After a while, he said, “No, it won’t be Lemo.
Based on my speculation, this Stellar Grade is not only not Lemo, it’s not any of our Stellar Grade Existences from the Fige Hub… Not only that, I feel that he does not even belong to the Milky Way, but is likely dispatched from the Silver Star System.”
Daland was very familiar with the circumstances of the Hub.
After the hymn went missing, these Stellar Grade Top Rank powerhouses were like half-blinded, not daring to venture anywhere.
He was completely unaware of such a significant event as the Dark Energy Rebel Army invading Su Yu’s home planet; Lemo would be even less likely to know.
The troops dispatched to Su Yu’s home planet for combat were from the Silver Star System, not the Fige Hub’s Defense Force.
Therefore, Daland concluded that the Stellar Grade who appeared on Su Yu’s home planet was most likely from the Silver Star System, not a local or nearby Stellar Grade from the Hub.
“From the Silver Star System…?” Everyone refrained from questioning the Legion Commander’s judgment.
Yet, if that were the case, it did put them at ease.
At least that meant the Su Yu auction affair wasn’t some kind of scheme set up by Acting Speaker.
Daland turned to look at Retdoz, “Retdoz, let me ask you another question–why does Su Yu want to sell the Dragon Corpse through auction? Doesn’t he know that it’s extremely dangerous?”
Given the current state of the Hub, auctioning such high-value treasures was indeed fraught with peril.
Even if Su Yu managed to successfully auction off the treasure and got the money, he would definitely become a target for malevolent powerhouses.
The Fige Hub had many Planet Level individuals with dirty hands; outside the Hub, there were also many large and powerful bands of Interstellar Pirates lurking.
Su Yu might get the money, but he might not live to spend it.
For a cultivator who appeared to be of Eighth Order, it was indeed very dangerous right now.
However, faced with the Legion Commander’s question, Retdoz had a puzzled look on his face.
This question… you’re asking me?
Isn’t Su Yu your own alternate account? If you’re hyping up your alt, why are you asking me?
But he dared not voice his inner thoughts.
After racking his brains for a while, Retdoz ventured with difficulty, “Perhaps… for making a big impression?”
“Making a big impression? For what purpose?” everyone was puzzled.
“Actually, it’s like this…” Retdoz gathered his thoughts and replied, “Su Yu, like me a month ago, has a very good impression of the Defense Force and has always wanted to join and become a member.
But for Su Yu, joining directly isn’t his style, so he decided to hype himself up first…”
Retdoz went through great lengths to explain Su Yu’s plan to hype himself up before joining the Defense Force with a high profile to advertise for them.
Of course, this was all made up by Retdoz.
And throughout his explanation, he repeatedly praised Su Yu, extolling him flamboyantly.
After all, Su Yu was the Legion Commander’s alternate account; he couldn’t be praised too much.
But his words left everyone in the meeting room bewildered–even Daland had a face full of question marks.
Was that really Su Yu’s goal?
He was grandstanding in the auction just to advertise for the Defense Force? Really?
Thus, after Retdoz finished speaking, the meeting room once again fell into silence.
Everyone was immersed in Retdoz’s words, unable to calm their inner turmoil for a long time.
