Chapter 1105: Chapter 1105: Two _1
The news was a brief flash, apparently a recent homicide, right here in Kingsley City, in broad daylight, on the crowded streetside park, a woman silently had her throat slit…
Unbelievable.
How was it possible?
Purple Summers stared in shock.
Alexander Summers turned off the TV and extended a hand to gently stroke her back, “There won’t be any trouble.”
“What on earth does he want to do?” she murmured, “How many more people does he need to kill…”
“It may not really be him,” Alexander murmured back soothingly, “Our assumption was just now, maybe the killer is a lunatic, maybe it’s not Nathaniel.”
Purple Summers’s heart felt as though it was constantly sinking to the bottom of a lake, heavy and cold.
No matter who it is… it’s feared they won’t stop here.
…
As Kingsley City is the political heart of Huaya, security had always been the best in the country, so the sudden appearance of a dead body on the street immediately sparked a heated debate.
With two lives connected to the Black Rose, the internet was in an uproar.
Reporters besieged the vicinity of the police station every day, wanting to know the progress of the case. The police only concluded that the two cases were likely committed by the same person, and refused to disclose more.
The police also deployed officers near Purple Summers’s residence, suspecting she might be the next target of the killer.
But Purple Summers did not believe that the perpetrator would show up so soon.
If the perpetrator wanted to torment her, they would let her live in fear of unforeseen death for a long stretch of time. Only then could it be considered torture.
When she returned to school, the look in her classmates’ eyes was somewhat unusual when they saw Purple Summers.
Purple Summers had received the Black Rose, which everyone had witnessed; now, suddenly, there were more guards around her–what this implied was almost self-evident.
Intentionally or not, the students began to distance themselves from Purple Summers. No one wanted to invite trouble.
A week passed like this, and then the Black Rose appeared again.
The florist’s delivery person had just arrived at the security post when they were immediately surrounded by lurking officers and bodyguards, with the nearby students stopping to watch. Seeing the large bunch of magnificent black roses, they all showed expressions of shock.
The roses were never delivered to Purple Summers.
The guard dismantled the bouquet for a thorough inspection. The roses were fresh and fragrant with dew, seemingly untouched, and amid the petals was only a tiny card reading: “Missing you terribly.”
Missing you terribly…
With a hint of teasing, it was as if it came from a friend she knew.
When the card was handed to Purple Summers, she remained silent for a long time before instructing the bodyguard to dispose of the roses and the card, and she herself went straight into the car.
Headed home, the car was escorted by security guards both in front and behind. It was impossible for anyone to get close to her, and even a remote sniper would find it futile against the bulletproof and bombproof vehicle.
Perhaps… all they could do was send a few roses to scare her?
Purple Summers sat quietly with her thoughts, one hand on her belly, and said, “Let’s go to the hospital.”
The driver, startled, glanced at Purple Summers in the rearview mirror and asked nervously, “Madam, are you alright?”
Purple Summers looked indifferent, her eyebrows only slightly furrowed, “Hmm, it hurts a bit.”
The drivers and bodyguards were nearly scared out of their wits!
Without any delay, they sped straight to the hospital.
When Purple Summers complained of stomach pain, everyone was on edge. Alexander arrived first, followed closely by Christopher Simonson and Caitlin Carter.
A group of people anxiously waited outside the B-ultrasound room, with Caitlin fretting, “Why on earth would she have stomach pains? She’s been in there for so long, why hasn’t she come out yet…”
Christopher Simonson was also anxious, challenging Alexander, “How have you been taking care of her? If I had known this would happen, I would have suggested she stay at the Presidential Palace!”
“It’s your guards who lack perception,” Alexander replied with a dark look, “If they had taken out the person delivering the roses earlier, this would have already been over.”
“You!…” Christopher was furious, glancing around at the nurses and patients passing by, truly wanting to say a thousand words, but unable to utter a single one.
Just then, the door to the B-ultrasound room finally opened.
The doctor emerged, all smiles, supporting Purple Summers and announced, “Congratulations, you’re having twins! Make sure to rest more when you get home.”
