Chapter 1456: Chapter 1017 You’re Really Not Human, Disgusting
Everyone except Ange faced a constant threat–the Origin Power. It kept them in check, preventing recklessness or unbridled behavior. Even monarchs refrained from casually ordering executions.
Because even ordinary humans possessed Origin Power, and there were even swordsmen who specialized in mastering it. These Chaos Swordsmen were exceptionally formidable. The fact that they could break defenses meant that conflicts with them could result in casualties.
Of course, one or two or even seven or eight Chaos Swordsmen were no big deal, but considering this was a massive alliance with tens of billions of people across dozens of planes, once mobilized, Anthony could think of no better option than running away.
Apart from Chaos Swordsmen, the Great Speaker also controlled Chaos Mourning entities, led by Bret, the Lord of Mourning. Each possessed Chaotic Power, including those Bodies of Mourning summoned through King’s Arrival by the Great Speaker, which also wielded Chaotic Power.
The Great Speaker was infuriatingly cunning. The Mourning Undead Soldiers he distributed among the various alliance factions lacked Chaotic Power–they were merely brainless, overly strong Purple Gold Bone Corpse Wizards.
If enemies judged the Great Speaker’s strength based on these Mourning Undead Soldiers and then foolishly charged in or declared rebellion, they would face the true elites of the Great Speaker and meet tragic ends. Orgal had evidently fallen for this trap.
Now Ange had discovered a brand-new type of Origin Power. Who knows how much hidden strength still exists in this world? Faced with such a situation, Anthony’s innate cautiousness (or cowardice) kicked in, ensuring his plans were as conservative as possible.
Fortunately, Little Ghost had arrived, supplying Ange with a continuous stream of Divine Power as a solid backing, allowing him to take risks. Otherwise, protecting the Master God would have remained his utmost priority.
The enemy possessed Origin Power, but apart from those closely bonded through Soul Contact with Ange, others lacked the ability to counter Origin Power. This meant Ange and his few allies had to personally handle everything, while the rest could only manage minor tasks.
“If we could have more of these pearls as weapons, everyone could fend for themselves,” Anthony concluded.
“Not really, right? Those dimwits like Nagisha He, even if they got their hands on them, might not even be able to unleash them against Chaos Swordsmen,” Negris remarked. While he acknowledged their power, he found it naive to rely solely on a single weapon.
Anthony responded: “Not really? Did you forget the Annihilation Sphere? A good weapon is enough to change the entire mode of warfare–just like cavalry, airships, and Magic Crystal Cannons. If we could create a way to activate them exclusively for our faction, it’d be even better.”
Durken raised his hand: “Leave that to me; it’s simple enough. I’ll make an activation shell for them.”
The discussion mostly wrapped up here, and everyone turned their gaze to Ange.
Ange shook his head: “No Dawn Origin.”
Anthony rubbed his nose and said, “If we plan to mass-produce these Original Magic Eggs, relying solely on Faradi won’t cut it. I wonder whether the Goddess of Dawn, this god, still exists. If she doesn’t, should we consider creating a new Goddess of Dawn?”
Negris rolled his eyes. “Wow, you’re ready to create gods at the drop of a hat. Are you the one making them? In the end, won’t we still have to rely on Ange?”
Without delay, Anthony selected a few gifts and headed to Faradi’s home. “Faradi, how many couples have you united recently?” Anthony asked warmly as he placed down his gifts.
Initially pleased at Anthony bringing gifts, Faradi’s mood soured when she heard the question. “Only a dozen or so couples! Nowhere near as impressive as you! You easily manipulated three young souls into this nonsense about severing emotional ties, rejecting marriage, and dedicating themselves wholeheartedly to the God of Light. What kind of bewitching nonsense did you feed them?”
Lately, Faradi had been quite happy facilitating matches between a dozen or so strangers and guiding them into wedlock. However, her achievements felt laughable compared to Anthony’s.
In the same time frame, Anthony had converted three individuals into fanatics of the Lord of Light, willing to sacrifice everything for their faith–fanatics who typically rejected marriage. Apparently, he was at odds with the Goddess of Dawn, making her rather unhappy.
“Haha, my apologies for stealing your people. How about you introduce me to the Goddess of Dawn so I can apologize to her directly? What do you think?” Anthony said with a cheerful smile.
Faradi widened her eyes in ‘bewilderment’: “The Goddess of Dawn? What Goddess of Dawn? I don’t know her.”
Anthony smiled and responded: “Your acting is terrible. Everyone in the village knows you’re the Priest of the Goddess of Dawn. Denying it now is too late. If that’s inconvenient, the Goddess of Dawn can project herself instead–that’s fine too.”
Faradi waved nonchalantly. “I was lying to them. Every one of them keeps hitting on me because I look pretty, constantly hanging around my doorstep. Beauty attracts trouble, you know? I had no choice but to tell them I’m the Priest of the Goddess of Dawn, sever ties with emotions, reject love and marriage, and dedicate my life to serving the goddess.”
“Haha.” Anthony chuckled and suddenly stood up, summoning a Divine Soul. A towering and majestic Divine Soul immediately emanated from him.
Anthony slowly said: “I am the representative of the God of Light. This one here is the God of Knowledge. That fast-running rabbit is the God of the Swift Wind. Silver Coin represents the God of Business, and we’ve got the God of Farming, the Goddess of Beauty, and the God of Harvest. We all fled persecution from the Holy Spirit Army in the Friel Empire to gather here.”
“Here’s the ‘Alliance Friends’ badge awarded to us by the Great Speaker. This is the missionary authorization oath signed between the Great Speaker and myself. And this is the Magic Imprint from the oath, with both parties’ seals ensuring its authenticity.” Anthony showcased documents, badges, scrolls, and finally handed the Magic Imprint scroll to Faradi.
Though skeptical, Faradi couldn’t resist her curiosity and opened the scroll, instantly seeing a vivid reenactment of the moment the Great Speaker urged Anthony to propagate faith.
“Tell the Goddess of Dawn to join our alliance of the gods. She’ll gain missionary approval from the Great Speaker and can openly and freely spread her faith. Wouldn’t it be wonderful to witness hundreds, even thousands of couples stepping into marriage together under her guidance?” Anthony asked.
Initially indifferent to talk of alliances and faith propagation, Faradi perked up at the mention of ‘hundreds or thousands of couples’ and immediately responded, “Wait here, I’ll go pass the message now.”
Faradi hid inside for quite some time before emerging and saying, “The Goddess of Dawn is willing to meet you, but the place where she resides will be sealed in less than an hour with a transmission window remaining. We don’t have a teleportation array here, so we’ll have to wait for the next transmission window to contact her again.”
“Transmission window? A boundary? A natural boundary? How often does it open? Give me the coordinates.” Anthony asked.
“Every three to six months, I suppose. It’s quite common for me to be unable to contact the Goddess of Dawn within that timeframe. Besides, why do you need the coordinates? Can you reach the nearest teleportation array within an hour? When the next transmission window opens, the coordinates will change anyway, so they’re useless to you.” Faradi replied.
Anthony shook his head. “Don’t tell me you can’t even manage objectless teleportation. Just give them to me; I don’t have time to wait another three or six months. If I miss this, I won’t include you in the plan anymore.”
“We have the Great Speaker’s approval–the Mourning Undead Soldiers and alliance high-ranking officials won’t stop our propagation activities. But for you all, it’ll be a different story. When we control faith across all planes, I’ll issue an edict banning all heterosexual marriages. Anyone practicing heterosexuality will be burned alive…”
Before Anthony finished his statement, Faradi hastily scribbled down the coordinates and weakly muttered, “You’re truly vile and disgusting.”
