Chapter 1439: Chapter 1000: The Exclusive Business is Very Profitable
Everyone was initially shocked by this Mourning Skeleton named Bret, for he possessed a skill similar to Feiti’s space movement. This was a highly practical and headache-inducing ability, equally useful in a fight or for escaping, even more so than Locke’s Annihilation Boundary.
Moreover, the opponent was a skeleton, not a Mourning Undead Soldier wrapped in flesh and bones.
Then, in the next moment, everyone was shocked again by the mention of ‘Light Disaster’ coming from his mouth. Even Ange halted his actions and ran over to look outside.
“Light Disaster? What is that?” Negris asked in confusion.
Not only it was puzzled, but the Great Speaker was equally perplexed: “What is Light Disaster?”
“It’s exactly that, the Light Disaster.” Bret pointed at the sun overhead and explained, “For some reason, the sunlight has become extremely toxic, as if it contains a force that could wither life. When shining on plants, it causes them to shrivel and turn black as if scorched by fire.”
“Animals suffer too. If they bask in the sun for too long, their skin will dry, blister, fester, and die if exposed too long. At first, we didn’t know, and some people who were in the sun for an entire day were injured, and many cattle and sheep died, so we call this the Light Disaster.”
The Great Speaker incredulously looked up at the sun in the sky and then checked his own skin but didn’t notice any changes.
After approaching this Plane, the sunlight seemed to be ever-strengthening, so he had been exposed to it all the way without sensing any difference. Could it be that the Undead were not affected?
“Does it affect you?” the Great Speaker asked.
“No. It doesn’t affect the Undead, only animals and plants. And skin protection can prevent the damage unless exposed for too long, which would lead to harm. However, plants can’t withstand it; if this continues, all plant life will wither, so we are rushing to harvest the crops. I won’t say more; I’m quick and responsible for moving things, so I’ll go do that now.”
Bret leaned back, the light around him twisted and contracted, then exploded into a Flash, and then he disappeared.
“I need to help too, you can do whatever.” Upon hearing the urgency and severity of the situation, the Great Speaker could no longer attend to Ange and the others. He turned his head and shouted, then gestured behind him.
The dozen or so coffins trailing behind him suddenly stood upright in a row, aligned like a series of giant swords pointed at the sky, with their Magic Patterns slowly lighting up.
The Great Speaker stomped in the air: thud thud thump–thud thud thump–
The clanging sound followed as the coffin lids opened, and one by one, the Mourning Undead Soldiers stepped out. Under the lead of the Great Speaker, they marched with big strides towards the distance.
Negris gasped upon seeing those Mourning Undead Soldiers, “Chaotic Power? They actually carry Chaotic Power? Why didn’t those captured by Olga have it? Is the Great Speaker hiding something?”
Anthony also commented, “These Mourning Undead Soldiers seem to lack souls. They are only animated by the Great Speaker’s King’s Arrival. Could it be that they aren’t being resurrected in the Life Box but rather to prevent others from tainting his weapons?”
Just like that, the Great Speaker was gone, leaving Ange and his companions behind on the Airship.
In this situation, Anthony had no idea what to do next. He turned to look at Ange and saw Ange reaching out through the window, trying to catch the light.
With a pinch, Ange caught a ball of light which he brought back and placed in his other palm. He repeated the action, and the ball of light in his other hand kept growing.
Everyone was agape, watching this unbelievable scene unfold. Though Ange did it casually, everyone knew it was an incredible sight, not even Negris could deny feeling as if they were witnessing a Miracle.
No, not just a feeling, this was indeed a Miracle.
After Ange grabbed a few handfuls of sunlight, he rolled them in his palm, generating colorful hues, then sifted through a strand of purple-red light and said, “This, there’s more of this.”
Negris interpreted, “Are you saying there’s an excess of this purple-red light in the sunlight? Could it be the cause of the Light Disaster?”
Ange nodded.
“Why would there suddenly be more of this kind of light? Did something change with the Sun? Right, is there an issue with the World Tree in the Friel Empire’s Master Plane?” Negris inquired.
If the sun had changed, the Forest of Foehn Wind would also be affected.
Ange closed his eyes, feeling something for a moment, then said, “A bit, just a little.”
“Just a little? Not as severe as here? That’s not right, the Master Plane is closer to the Sun than here. If there were any effects, it would be even worse there,” Negris voiced.
Ange closed his eyes once more, feeling again, and then said, “There’s a breath, it lessens it.”
“Are you saying that the air in the Master Plane is thicker? Or is there another component in the air that reduces the damage from the purple-black lines?” asked Negris.
“Another component,” Ange stated.
Both Anthony and silver coin’s minds raced, and they simultaneously asked, “What component? Can it be separated or produced?”
“What are you thinking?” Negris curiously asked.
Silver coin added, “If we could produce it, the demand should be huge, an exclusive business, very profitable.”
Anthony said, “According to what’s happening here, other Planes would undoubtedly be spared neither. There will be a massive reduction in crops, leading to many deaths. If we could produce this component, it could save a lot of people.”
Negris’s heart skipped a beat, right, even the Friel Empire was affected, signaling that this was an extensive range event involving both the Friel Empire and the Divine Light Alliance, more than just here.
If one Plane has a reduction in food production, it’s possible to purchase food from another Plane. But if all Planes experience various degrees of reduction or even complete failure, then the problems become severe, heralding the end of days for the Planes, with all forces desperate for food, igniting wars at any cost.
Realizing the grave consequences, Negris instinctively turned to Ange.
Ange nodded, then mimicked a gesture as if tossing something in front of him up in the air.
Negris instantly understood, “Element Conversion, can you use Element Conversion to transform something else into that air component?”
Ange nodded again.
Excited and proud, Negris slapped his thigh and exclaimed, “As expected of the one with seven forms of Void Origin, truly, nothing can stump you.”
Indeed, Ange’s stature was that of a creation-level entity; if it weren’t for his true form being unable to cross over, there would be no need for such a low profile as now.
“How should we sell it? And what would the Great Speaker offer in exchange?” Negris looked towards silver coin and Anthony.
