Chapter 1019: If men could have children

Wen Ran arrived at Wen’s Pharmaceutical Factory just after Bai Yiyi had left.

In the office, Wen Jin was reviewing documents. Seeing her come in, he closed the file, stood up, walked out of the office, and sat down with her on the sofa.

“Brother, how is it going? Can Yiyi handle the job as your secretary?”

Wen Ran looked at Wen Jin with curved eyebrows and eyes.

Wen Jin hooked his lips into a smile and said warmly, “Yes, Bai Yiyi is a very capable woman. I’ve asked her to start work tomorrow. Just now, I also heard her say that you accompanied Ah Kai on a blind date?”

“Mhm.”

Wen Ran nodded, her face bright with a radiant smile, seemingly in a very good mood.

Wen Jin stared at her brilliant smile, his own smile deepening, “Ranran, seeing you this happy, did Ah Kai’s blind date go that well? Will he be bringing a sister-in-law home for you soon?”

That was Ranran.

Wen Ran looked at Wen Jin and said seemingly offhandedly, “For instance, whether my brother has someone he likes, or why he dislikes Yiyi so much, whether he knew Yiyi from before?”

Wen Jin chuckled.

“Ranran, are these things Mo Xiuchen told you?”

The last time, Mo Xiuchen had hinted that he should remind Gu Kai.

Did Li En’s hateful gaze that night remind Mo Xiuchen of something?

Wen Ran’s smile faded, and she shook her head, “No, it’s something Li En said last time that I’ve been unable to understand.”

“Li En?”

Wen Jin repeated and pondered for a moment before saying, “Ranran, Ah Kai and Bai Yiyi did know each other before. Ah Kai mentioned they had some grudges, but I’m not clear on the details.”

“I really hope that Li En’s words are just some misunderstanding,” Wen Ran said with a slight frown.

She truly hoped that the relationship between Gu Kai and Bai Yiyi wasn’t like that.

“Ranran, don’t think too much.”

Wen Jin soothed tenderly.

Wen Ran went to Haochen, without notifying Mo Xiuchen in advance.

She didn’t know that Mo Xiuchen was currently furious due to a company issue.

When she pushed open the door, Mo Xiuchen, thinking it was Secretary Lin returning, didn’t even look up as he harshly reproached, “Get out!”

Wen Ran was startled, then saw Mo Xiuchen, head down, fingers flying over the keyboard. She smiled gently and softly asked, “Mo Xiuchen, what’s wrong? Why are you so angry?”

Mo Xiuchen’s typing paused, and he abruptly looked up. Seeing it was Wen Ran who had entered, all his fury receded like the tide. He walked out from behind his desk and swiftly approached her.

“Ranran, why did you come?”

This sudden change of expression made it feel like transitioning directly from the cold winter to the warm month of March.

Wen Ran looked at his deep and gentle eyes, allowed him to wrap his arm around her waist, and walked to the sofa to sit down. As he poured her a glass of water, she asked, “Why were you so angry just now, did something happen at the company?”

“Nothing much. You came, but why didn’t you tell me? Did Ah Kai have to go back to the hospital suddenly?”

Mo Xiuchen’s inquiring words were laced with certainty.

He knew Gu Kai’s profession too well.

Wen Ran smiled faintly, and instead of answering, she asked, “Mo Xiuchen, do you know a girl named Fang Zhiwei from high school, who went to the same school as you?”

“I don’t know her. Who is Fang Zhiwei?”

Mo Xiuchen shook his head without a second thought.

He squinted his eyes, suddenly realizing, “Is she the one Ah Kai was set up with today?”

“Yes, that Fang Zhiwei is quite nice, and she told me she has liked my brother for a long time. Mo Xiuchen, this is a secret, don’t tell my brother.”

Mo Xiuchen chuckled softly, raised his hand, and gently brushed her forehead, looking downward at her abdomen, he softly asked, “Did you feel uncomfortable at all today?”

Wen Ran’s voice trailed off as she pouted unhappily.

He even suggested that she terminate the pregnancy.

Seeing her pout unhappily brought back memories of his earlier words, his eyes flickered, and he embraced her in his arms, his voice low and husky by her ear, “Ranran, I just didn’t want you to suffer at all. If men could bear children, I would bear them for you.”

“You bearing children?”

Wen Ran pushed him away and gave him a top-to-bottom look.

Mo Xiuchen nodded earnestly, “Yes, if men could bear children, I would definitely spare you the hardship.”

Unfortunately, he couldn’t do it for her.

Wen Ran looked at his serious expression, felt warmed inside, and leaned back into his embrace, her hands wrapped around his waist, “Mo Xiuchen, you’re really stupid.”

“I hope you’re carrying girl and boy twins, so you won’t have to go through this again.”

Mo Xiuchen’s large hand gently stroked Wen Ran’s abdomen, feeling it change a bit every day.

Mo Xiuchen’s eyes sparkled, and he laughed heartily, “Well, of course, it’s not just my achievement, it’s our joint effort. Ranran, I asked Ah Kai the other day, and he said a cesarean section wouldn’t be as painful as natural childbirth, so shall we go for a cesarean when the time comes?”
