Chapter 1159: Chapter 1159: Jasmine Yale Who Cries
At first glance, Jasmine Yale still looked the same as before, sweet and casual.
She bowed her head, eating the ribs alone at the vast dining table.
After a while, it felt like something tugged at her feet.
Jasmine looked down–
It was Riceball!
The large dog also lifted its head, tilting it as it looked at Jasmine Yale.
It really was Jasmine; it sniffed its nose and was not mistaken.
Perhaps because it hadn’t seen Jasmine for so long, Riceball was especially joyful, circling around her feet, showing great affection.
Jasmine smiled, “Riceball, has it been a long time since you saw me?”
“Woof…” Riceball barked.
“Riceball, you’ve lost weight, hasn’t someone been treating you well? When your little master isn’t here, is someone being mean to you?”
Riceball had indeed lost weight, which was odd given the long time span; logically, it should have gained weight.
Butler Santana quickly interjected, “Miss Yale, this Elaskan is quite perceptive. After you and the young master left, it often refused to eat or drink, just wilting on the floor, not moving at all.”
“Really? Riceball, that’s not good. You should keep yourself well-fed, not treat yourself poorly.”
While Jasmine spoke to Riceball, it sat squatting on the ground, very well-behaved.
“Miss Yale, Riceball also misses you and the young master.”
“I know.”
Jasmine missed Riceball too.
She remembered the first time she met Riceball; it was very enthusiastic.
Back then, she even called it a bad dog.
In the blink of an eye, she had known this ‘bad dog’ for over a year.
Jasmine ate her meal while Riceball hovered around her feet.
“Miss Yale, come to the balcony after you eat; it’s warm there, and the sunlight is good, perfect for resting. I’ll prepare afternoon tea for you,” Butler Santana suggested.
“Got it.”
Cheney Residence was so vast, where could she go?
Moreover, she felt too lazy to go out; aside from missing Ann a little, nothing else particularly interested her.
She had come to Landon with the goal of finding Sylvan Cheney.
Whether he was willing to talk or not, she wanted to get to the bottom of things.
The meal was satisfying for Jasmine Yale.
The food at Cheney Residence still had the taste she was most familiar with, the taste she had grown accustomed to here.
“Miss Yale, Mr. Cheney will definitely come back tonight.”
“Whatever makes him happy.”
If he was displeased, perhaps a plane ticket would send her away by evening.
Jasmine gazed out the window, the sunlight was beautiful.
Her stomach was full, and her mood improved significantly.
She felt there was no need to hold a grudge against him. If he treated her like a little white rabbit, so be it; he toyed with her when he was happy and kicked her away when he wasn’t.
Lucky for her, a little white rabbit was still quite cute, wasn’t it?
It wasn’t necessary to be angry with someone like him.
After dining, Jasmine’s phone rang.
It was her new domestic number, known only to Sylvan Cheney.
“Did you eat well?”
“I have eaten.”
“Don’t catch a cold; it’s very cold outside.”
“I’m not going out.”
“Hmm,” it seemed he was pleased on the other end. “I’ll see you tonight. I’ve had someone bring your luggage from the hotel.”
“Got it.”
“Don’t call anyone, including Ann Nolan.”
“Why? Are you raising me like a canary again? I’m not your little sparrow; I’m Jasmine Yale.”
“I know you are Jasmine Yale, the Jasmine Yale who cries.”
“You!”
“I’m busy now.” Sylvan hung up the phone.
Jasmine was somewhat upset; she barely cried as an adult, but in his eyes, she still had piles and piles of embarrassing past.
He was the only one who knew all her dark histories.
