Chapter 1140: Chapter 1140: I Don’t Like People Who Oppose Me
It was evening in the domestic region when Charles Mcintosh received another call from Lilac Serval.
“Little Lilac.”
He stood in front of the floor-to-ceiling window in his bedroom, gazing at the ink-stained sky.
“Charles, I’ve taken a liking to your house, and I want to buy it,” Lilac Serval declared with the assertiveness of the Bandit King, not even blinking an eye.
“Hmm?” Charles squinted, not expecting the conversation to go there, “If you buy it from me, where would I live?”
“You’ve got plenty of money, and besides, you won’t be able to come to Lonton for a while, right?”
“How do you want to buy it, and how much are you offering?”
Charles’s lips curled into a smile, his eyes glinting with a deep, intense light, a bit more cheerful than usual.
“I only have 500,000 in savings, so I’ll offer you 200,000 for it. Would you sell it?”
The amusement in the depths of Charles’s eyes grew more apparent.
200,000?
She sure knew how to do business.
200,000 for a house? Or did she think he was an idiot?
“Little Lilac, I haven’t heard of anyone buying a house in Lonton for just 200,000.”
“Sometimes Chale Cheney stays at my place, and it’s too small to accommodate him. Buying your house would benefit Chale as well.”
“Well, I’ve also not heard you can buy it for just 200,000.”
“So are you not selling? If you aren’t selling, then don’t come to see me anymore. I don’t like people who go against me; I like people who go with me. Also, I like money,” Lilac said casually, as if it were nothing.
Charles actually enjoyed her audacious demeanor.
Clearly, it was a high-pressure sale, yet she managed to seem utterly sincere.
Ironically, he fell for it.
Who could blame him? Her name was Lilac Serval.
Charles remained silent, still looking out the window, but his eyes softened.
His tall silhouette stood on the floor, the bedroom filled with the scent of smoke and red wine.
Lilac knew he wasn’t hurting for money, which is why she dared to blatantly extort him.
To him, a house was merely a drop in the ocean, insignificant.
“Brother Mcintosh, being from the same sect, you wouldn’t be this stingy, would you? 200,000, after all, your house is just sitting there. If you come to Lonton, you can stay in the apartment I’m renting; it’s big enough and I’ve made it very pretty,” Lilac laughed, her bright eyes and good looks making her very attractive, “Brother Mcintosh, you’d definitely prefer my rented apartment–it’s cozier than yours, and you’d love it.”
“How much did you say you have in savings again?”
“500,000.”
Lilac felt hopeful.
She had always dreamed of owning her own house, so she wouldn’t have to pay rent to the old Caucasian lady every month or take any nonsense.
But with her salary, she couldn’t afford to buy one in Lonton.
This opportunity was something she had been eyeing for a long time.
She imagined her own new house, how even better she’d arrange it.
“Alright, 450,000. I’ll sell it to you.”
Lilac was astonished. Was he really willing to sell???
Even though 450,000 was beyond her initial expectation, where else could she buy a house for 450,000! The agent told her that house was worth 5 million.
“However, there’s one condition; you can’t resell it,” Charles stated lightly.
“Sure, I won’t sell it. I definitely won’t,” Lilac agreed.
After all, where else could she find such a great house?
Of course, she wouldn’t sell it!
“Transfer the money to my account, and I’ll have my assistant handle the rest,” Charles said calmly, his face showing little emotion, but his eyes hid an indiscernible smile.
“Transfer the money first?” Lilac paused.
“What, you don’t trust me? We’re from the same sect if you can’t trust me, then we can’t do this deal.”
