Chapter 404: Chapter 403: Dragon’s Blood
White Stone City.
The city was enveloped in dead silence, and the atmosphere was oppressively gloomy.
At some unknown point, dark clouds had drifted into the sky, obscuring the sunlight and casting the entire land into shadows. Occasional deep rumbles thundered through the clouds like rough stones brutally striking one’s eardrum, vibrating painfully.
“Boom boom–”
A peal of thunder.
In the courtyard, Pandora, clenching her fist, struck out in sync with the thunder.
“Bang!”
A loud crash!
However, Vasily did not die, nor was he injured; rather, it was Pandora who suffered mishap.
She was struck by an unseen force the moment her fist came into contact with Vasily’s body and before she could even unleash her power, she was sent flying.
“Bang!”
Pandora fell from the sky, landed hands-first, stood up, and looked toward Vasily.
At that moment, Vasily, appearing to feel like he had narrowly escaped death, exhaled sharply and turned to look at Suo Men next to him. His lips moved slightly and in a faint voice, he said, “Thanks.” It was Suo Men who had intervened at the crucial moment and attacked Pandora to save him.
After hearing Vasily’s words, Suo Men’s face showed little reaction. He merely frowned slightly and said, “Thanks or no thanks, I don’t care. What’s important is to wrap this up quickly. Ji Burlen, the steward, is still waiting back at the base.”
“I understand,” Vasily said back to Suo Men and, casting a glance at Dora, spoke up, “But… what on earth is this little girl? She looks merely like a little girl, so how can she possess such immense strength, even greater than an ordinary wizard’s?”
“Don’t ask me; I don’t know either,” Suo Men responded, flinging his hand as a blue ice cone that was several centimeters long shot out.
“Bang!”
Pandora quickly blocked it with her arm, and the ice cone shattered with a “crash.”
Suo Men then cast a purple electrical arc, hitting Pandora, but she scarcely reacted.
After testing twice, Suo Men deeply frowned, sensing something extraordinary about Pandora. Leaving other traits aside, her exceptional resistance to magic alone was beyond what an ordinary person, or even a human, could possess.
Could it be…
Suo Men furrowed his brow, took a deep breath, and rapidly muttered a spell under his breath.
Moments later, having finished reciting the spell, Suo Men raised his hand, and a black energy-formed skull the size of an apple emerged. Shooting toward Pandora like an arrow, it went “pfft” as it hit and infiltrated her body.
Instantly, Pandora’s complexion changed, her brows furrowed tightly, and her facial muscles twisted as if in great pain.
“Uh?” Vasily spoke up, turning to Suo Men, “What spell did you just use? Why have I never seen you use it before?”
“Extreme Evil Curse,” Suo Men replied.
“Extreme Evil Curse?!” Vasily’s expression shifted slightly, clearly recognizing the term, “Isn’t that… the spell you specifically learned for the task of hunting the Giant Dragon?”
“Indeed,” Suo Men nodded, “This spell’s purpose is to drastically reduce a Giant Dragon’s strong defenses to an exaggerated, almost non-existent degree, allowing one to easily shatter the body of a Giant Dragon. But this spell can also be used against most Demonized Creatures.
However, since it was specifically designed for subduing Giant Dragons, the closer a Demonized Creature’s type is to that of a Giant Dragon, the better the effect; the greater the difference, the lesser the effect. It seems that this little girl’s reaction is almost indistinguishable from an actual Giant Dragon’s.”
“But aren’t the Giant Dragons already wiped out?”
“This is exactly what I’m puzzled about,” Suo Men said.
He stared at Pandora for a long time before speaking, “Maybe she’s a Mixed Blood, or perhaps something else. After all, the Wizard Association has created many crazy beings before. But it doesn’t matter, just kill her.”
“Uh, alright,” Vasily nodded and then asked, “Shall we do it together?”
“If you want to give all the credit to me, I don’t mind doing it myself,” Suo Men said.
“If you really think so, I indeed can give the credit to you, especially since you just saved my life,” Vasily said, though his hand slowly raised as he spoke.
Suo Men also raised his hand, aiming at Pandora.
Pandora sensed the danger, withstood the pain, and looked at Suo Men and Vasily, pressing her lips tightly and tensing her face, her eyes conveying an extremely serious expression. Her body slowly bent down, with her legs slightly bent, preparing to forcefully attack.
At that moment, the Attack Magic from Vasily and Suo Men was ready and released.
“Swoosh swoosh swoosh!”
The sound of cutting air arose, and inky black Wind Blades formed around Vasily’s body, each carrying an evil energy, hurtling out fiercely and hitting Pandora’s body. Upon impact, instead of shattering, the Wind Blades quickly sliced open wounds like deathly birds ready to tear Pandora apart.
“Whiz!”
A sharp sound pierced the air as Suo Men released his attack. A sparrow-shaped ball of Flames flew out, heading towards Pandora, growing in size with the wind until it was as large as a yak by the time it reached Pandora.
Then, this yak-sized fiery sparrow exploded with a loud “boom,” creating a fiery column tens of meters high that completely engulfed Pandora in the explosion.
“Boom rumble! Splash!”
The entire courtyard collapsed under the force of the explosion, bricks, tiles, and soil flying high and falling heavily, a grand spectacle. Dust, like a misty mountain of clouds, rose and lingered long in the air, tiresomely refusing to dissipate.
Suo Men frowned at the scene before him, pointed to the sky, and with a loud “boom,” cold raindrops rained down swiftly, heavily pounding into the rising dust.
Soon, the dust was suppressed back to the ground by the rain, and the visibility cleared. What could be seen was that the whole courtyard had turned into ruins, completely desolate and silent.
Vasily and Suo Men exchanged glances, and communicated, “That little girl should have been taken care of, right?”
“Most likely,” Suo Men said.
But…
The next moment, with a “splash,” Pandora’s body burst out from the pile of bricks and stones. She first swayed, then steadied herself, with wide eyes staring at Vasily and Suo Men, a glow like flames slowly emerging deep within her eyes.
At this moment, Pandora looked terrible.
She wore a tattered piece of clothing that barely covered her body. Her cheeks, neck, and arms all bore numerous narrow wounds, from which blood oozed out.
Pandora’s blood was viscous, emitting a faint red glow at the wounds, flowing slowly from the wounds, and with a “plop,” it dripped onto the puddled ground.
And… just at the moment it hit the ground, just when her blood touched the rainwater, with a “sizzle,” the rainwater boiled, turning a vast amount of it into steam, enveloping Pandora.
It turned out… Pandora’s blood was hot.
Hot!
Scorching hot!
Like magma!
This was… Dragon’s blood!
