Chapter 402: Chapter 401: Pandora of One Punch!
“Thud, thud, thud…”
Accompanied by the sound of footsteps, Suo Men and Vasily walked in, their faces expressionless as they stepped over the golden-haired young man who lay on the ground, vomiting blood, and approached Eisen.
Vasily crouched before Eisen, seizing his throat with one hand and said coldly, “So, how about it, idiot? What did I just tell you? You’re going to die! So, you are indeed going to die–I always keep my word!”
“Cough, cough!”
Eisen coughed violently, blood foamed at the corners of his mouth, and he glared at Vasily, “My death… means nothing. Someone will avenge me. You, and the person behind you, will die.”
“Do you really not understand, or are you pretending not to?” Vasily raised an eyebrow. “Before laying a hand on you, I made it clear that it should be you who dies. All the wizards from the White Stone Tower and the other organizations coming to your aid will die in this city today, got it?! These are the orders of Steward Ji Burlen; maybe even higher-ups are watching. You have no chance of turning the tables!”
“Pah!” Eisen spat out blood-filled saliva and yelled at Vasily, “Impossible, just with your sneaky behavior, you could never achieve that!”
“Huff–”
Vasily exhaled, shaking his head with a touch of self-mockery, “Fools will always be fools, forever unable to see the true nature of this world. Since that’s the case, why… should I continue to waste time on you? After I kill you, I’ll make some noise to attract the attention of your people, and my job will be done. So…”
“Thump!”
With a thud, Vasily punched Eisen’s body, piercing through his chest and shattering his heart.
Vasily slowly withdrew his hand, flicked off the fresh blood, and stood up, glancing over at Eisen with contempt as he said, “And with that, farewell forever, idiot!”
Eisen had become a corpse, lying on the ground, motionless.
“Alright, let’s go,” Suo Men said from the side.
“Mm,” Vasily replied, and together with Suo Men, they started walking toward the door. Then, as if viewing a brick obstructing their path, Vasily kicked the golden-haired young man lying on the ground, vomiting blood.
The golden-haired young man, already seriously injured with multiple fractures, was sent flying by Vasily’s kick, smashing into the courtyard with a cry of agony. It was clear he wouldn’t survive.
The people in the courtyard, whether out of fear or anger, couldn’t help but gasp at the sight.
“Hm?” Vasily, about to follow Suo Men out of the courtyard, paused his steps, slightly turned his head to look at the people gathered there, narrowed his eyes and said, “What’s the matter, you seem to have an opinion on my actions?”
“Gulp!”
The people in the courtyard swallowed nervously, shaking their heads in unison.
Seeing their reaction, Vasily’s expression turned somewhat amused, “Don’t be like that. I’m actually a reasonable person. If you’ve got something to say, feel free to speak up. I’m open to hearing it.”
“We wouldn’t dare!” The elder who had earlier welcomed Pandora spoke up boldly, his face full of respect, “Master Wizard, we didn’t mean to disturb you on purpose, it was by accident. Please forgive us. What you did was right, Bottes got what he deserved, please… please forgive our misunderstanding.”
“Heh, forgive you?” Vasily laughed, a strange chuckle, as he touched the iron earring on his ear, “Hmm, indeed, I should forgive you.”
The elder’s heart eased slightly upon hearing this, but then he felt as if he had fallen into an ice pit.
“Indeed, I should forgive you,” Vasily said, “because it’s not worth being angry with a bunch of dead people.”
“Master Wizard!” The elder’s eyes widened in shock as he exclaimed, “We…”
His words were abruptly cut off.
Vasily’s expression turned somewhat cruel as he raised his hand, unleashing numerous Wind Blades that flew out like the sharpest of blades. In an instant, the speaking elder and half the crowd fell, becoming dismembered corpses.
The other half, their faces pale, were scared stiff.
At the entrance, Suo Men furrowed his brow upon seeing this and said to Vasily, “Was that necessary? For such a trivial matter, you had to waste time?”
“Indeed, the mission is of utmost importance; I almost forgot,” Vasily said, slapping his forehead, but then continued, “However, since it’s been done, might as well do it thoroughly. So…”
“Better clean it all up,” Vasily raised his hand again, and a fresh onslaught of Wind Blades swept through the crowd, bringing down the remaining half instantly. The whole yard was left empty and silent.
“Much better now,” Vasily muttered to himself. The very next moment, though, his brows rose as his gaze fell upon Pandora, who had somehow hidden herself in a corner, “Hmm? Another little girl? Ah, a very pretty little girl.”
At the entrance, Suo Men sounded slightly impatient, “Hey, can you hurry it up? Do you really want to leave a bad impression with Steward Ji Burlen?”
“I know what I’m doing,” Vasily responded, “I’ll be done in no time!”
After saying this, Vasily walked toward Pandora and stood before her.
Vasily looked her up and down with interest, clicking his tongue and remarking, “Hmm, you truly are beautiful. It makes me think, it would be nice to have a daughter like you.”
Hearing this, Suo Men at the entrance snorted and shook his head.
As if he hadn’t noticed Suo Men’s gesture, Vasily continued to address Pandora, asking, “Little girl, how old are you this year?”
Pandora didn’t speak.
“Hmm, you don’t want to say? Alright then, I’ll change the question,” said Vasily, pointing at the courtyard’s carnage with a hint of wickedness, “Are your parents in here?”
Pandora remained silent.
“Whew–”
Vasily exhaled, lightly rubbing his forehead and said, “It seems my earlier actions were too rough and scared you, huh? In that case, as an apology, let me give you a gift.”
While speaking, Vasily clenched his fist and brought it up to Pandora’s face, asking, “Do you want to see something nice? Do you like it?”
Pandora, expressionless, still said nothing, her wide eyes watching. Reflected in her pupils were Vasily’s face, Suo Men’s face, and the dismembered corpses and flowing blood of the courtyard.
“Don’t you like it?” Vasily began to slowly unfold his clenched fist, confidently saying, “No, you will definitely like my gift! Yes, you will like it. Because… who wouldn’t like eternal rest?!”
The corners of Vasily’s mouth curled upward, forming an exaggerated arc as his palm fully opened. In its center, a Wind Blade, a solid and dazzling white Wind Blade, hovered, and in the next moment, shot towards Pandora’s throat like an arrow.
In that instant, Vasily thought he saw the beautiful sight of bright red blood spurting from Pandora’s neck.
But…
That beautiful sight did not emerge.
Vasily saw that the moment the Wind Blade touched Pandora’s neck, it dissipated like a thin layer of ice meeting a scorching hot iron plate.
And before he could react, a short sonic boom rang out, followed by a tremendous roar.
His thoughts still lingered in the second before, but his senses were overtaken by his body being struck by a potent force, and then he was flying… flying… soaring high into the air…
