Chapter 1244: Chapter 1248: It’s Right to Steal
Bai Qingchen didn’t take Zhu Minglang very seriously, merely placing a restriction on him that prevented him from leaving the Juvenile Spirit Court.
Zhu Minglang didn’t plan on leaving anyway.
Free food and lodging here, not to mention all the treasures.
He’d make Bai Qingchen regret it–her divine lie would come with a painful price!
Empty out the place, everything!
“Once you reach King Level, you can make a run for the Hundred Fruits Garden, I’ve scouted it out, the Garden Keeper is of the Lower Level King.”
“One month’s time should be enough for you to grow from Juvenile to Adult Stage; this transformation should at least get you to God Son Level.”
“We also need to make the most of our time; if you don’t reach Adult Stage in a month, we’ll continue to be oppressed.”
“Wuu wuu wuu~~~~~” The Nine-tailed Dragon made a noise, indicating its determination to work hard.
Once it reached adulthood, it would definitely tear apart that bad woman from the Juvenile Spirit Court!
…
He waved goodbye to the Sun’s red sundial.
It seemed like even the Sword Spirit Dragon knew about Zhu Minglang’s plans for thievery, hence it descended early down the mountain to create an even darker night for Zhu Minglang and Little Jiuwei.
Arriving at the Hundred Fruits Garden, which is a lengthy valley with almost only one narrow path in and out, many members from Juvenile Spirit Court would come here during the day for maintenance.
Zhu Minglang had been assigned to weed here in previous days and had become thoroughly familiar with the place.
There would be only one drunken Garden Keeper by the valley entrance today; that guy gets dead drunk every day, an important person for Zhu Minglang’s treasure snatching.
In fact, above the valley, there was a hanging vine that could be climbed down, something Zhu Minglang discovered while cleaning the steep cliffside vegetation.
Night had fallen deeply, and after calculating a bit, the Garden Keeper must be drunkenly hazy by now, so Zhu Minglang and Little Jiuwei Dragon slid down the steep cliffs using a vine left there purposely.
There were some Hound Dragons in the garden which had a very keen sense of smell.
As soon as Zhu Minglang landed, these Hound Dragons came over, but upon recognizing him, they all stuck out their long tongues, their eyes shining with obedience.
Zhu Minglang distributed the prepared bait to these Hound Dragons.
During the days doing menial work, Zhu Minglang had become familiar with these Hound Dragons; they naturally wouldn’t bark wildly at him.
He walked towards his target, situated under an overhanging empty cliff wall in the valley, a rock pool with a Rock Lotus in the middle. Although it was only a Thousand Year Refinement, it was the best Immortal Roots for Little Jiuwei’s growth.
Zhu Minglang had estimated that Little Jiuwei probably needed three Thousand Year Refinement quality Spiritual Roots, combined with the thousands-of-fold nurturing effects of his Dragon Shepherd Spiritual Domain, finding three such Spiritual Roots would ensure Little Jiuwei’s successful entry into adulthood.
Of course, those three Thousand Year Refinement items must be age-enhanced, since what Zhu Minglang needed wasn’t a Cultivation Base. The increase in cultivation required gradual accumulation and wasn’t enough to solve his current predicament, whereas the transformation in growth would be the fastest way to enhance strength.
At the rock pool, Zhu Minglang’s face revealed a smile, particularly resplendent under the moonlight.
Zhu Minglang knew that this item was meant to be presented to Bai Qingchen during the annual celebration, and just thinking about Bai Qingchen’s self-righteous and hypocritical demeanor, Zhu Minglang wished he could set the Hundred Fruits Garden ablaze.
The Little Jiuwei Dragon approached the rock pool and gently plucked the Spirit Lotus with its tail.
It put it in its mouth, the Little Jiuwei Dragon started chewing, eating the Spirit Lotus along with its roots and stalk, not leaving a single trace of evidence.
After the meal, Little Jiuwei’s face was filled with satisfaction. Its fur was gradually changing, progressing from a state where some odd hairs mixed in to now where the Little Jiuwei Dragon’s hair color had become remarkably uniform, transitioning from moon-white to light ink, resembling a profoundly artistic ink-wash landscape painting, exuding a classic and elegant charm!
Having stolen the items, Zhu Minglang and Little Jiuwei quickly departed. Before leaving, Zhu Minglang meticulously dealt with their footprints and intentionally stupefied the Hound Dragons, making them all appear as if they were drunk.
Afterward, Zhu Minglang left behind some miscellaneous items he had picked up along the way. These belonged to someone from the Young Spirit Court and could completely serve as a means of misdirection.
Having proficiently cleaned up the crime scene, Zhu Minglang left feeling completely satisfied.
…
The next day, Zhu Minglang continued doing miscellaneous chores.
But it was evident someone was in trouble: the people of the Hundred Fruits Garden must find the lost items within a month or find replacements. Otherwise, they would fail to give an account to Bai Qingchen.
No one suspected Zhu Minglang. For one thing, they didn’t believe Zhu Minglang had the capability; on the other hand, they focused on how the Garden Keepers drank and neglected their duties.
The next target was the offerings.
Every month, the Young Spirit Court received numerous offerings from various God Territories and Divine Lands. Donations from the wealthy, as well as contributions from believers, were among these offerings.
Zhu Minglang was doing cleaning work in Bai Qingchen’s courtyard when one time, a female attendant asked him to help carry heavy items. So Zhu Minglang learned exactly where Bai Qingchen kept the offerings.
In seven days, the offerings would arrive and then be transported to Bai Qingchen’s private library.
Zhu Minglang had already bribed that female attendant, so when the time came, he would just go and help with transporting them.
…
Early in the morning, Zhu Minglang went to the Earth Altar, where Bai Qingchen’s offerings were stored.
Of course, Zhu Minglang’s target wasn’t this month’s offerings, but the good stuff in Bai Qingchen’s private library.
“Once everything is sorted, I’ll trouble everyone to carry the items inside,” the black-bearded steward said, registering them in a thick ledger.
“Here’s one more box; how could we forget this? If one is missing, you are to blame,” the black-bearded steward glared at the laborers carrying the load.
“We’ll carry it now, just went to take a break and drink some water.”
“Hurry up with the moving, I’m sealing up the storage afterward!” the black-bearded steward declared.
With the last box carried in, the black-bearded steward locked the heavy stone door and added a seal on top of it.
However, inside the Earth Altar Private Library, that box suddenly moved slightly, followed by seeing the sealed box being pushed open with six tails.
Little Jiuwei jumped out from that box, then closed it, carefully reapplying the seal.
“Little Xian Tail, search for the old ones, preferably the Thousand Year Refinement, or anything that could aid your growth,” Zhu Minglang communicated telepathically with Little Jiuwei from outside the Earth Altar.
“Wuu wuu wuu~~”
Little Jiuwei nodded and immediately began sniffing around each item.
Bai Qingchen would periodically select some of the better Spiritual Roots from these offerings to reward people from the Young Spirit Court. Naturally, she also hoped to raise more strong beings at the Godly Realm.
The quality of these offerings was mixed, with varying levels of quality, but with careful searching, it was still possible to find Spiritual Roots suitable for the Little Jiuwei Dragon.
“Wuu wuu!”
Clearly, the Little Jiuwei Dragon had discovered a treasure.
