Chapter 9: Performing Her Husband’s Duty

Su Yanxi was stunned. Although she knew who the cold voice belonged to, she still slowly bent down to look inside the car. The man’s cold eyes happened to glance over, and their eyes met.

Su Yanxi took two steps forward and pursed his lips, “There’s no need to. I drove here myself.”

“Get in the car.” He repeated the same word again, but this time, there was a lack of patience in his cold tone, and his deep black eyes were clouded with displeasure.

“Honk honk—”

A deafening honk came from the back of the car. Su Yanxi turned her head and saw that there were quite a few cars lined up at the back. After pondering for three seconds, she opened the door and got in.

“Seat belt.” Lu Jingyan retracted his gaze and reminded her indifferently. He started the car and drove slowly into the driveway.

Upon hearing his words, Su Yanxi silently buckled her seatbelt. After a few minutes of silence, Su Yanxi suddenly looked at him and said, “Thank you… for last night.”

When he heard this, Lu Jingyan glanced at her, but he had no intention of answering her.

Seeing that he did not reply, Su Yanxi did not say anything else. She just quietly leaned back in her seat and closed her eyes to rest.

Ten minutes later, the car arrived at the riverside villa. Sensing that the car had stopped, Su Yanxi opened her eyes and looked around. She unbuckled her seatbelt and thanked him again before getting out of the car.

Initially, she thought that he would leave just like last time. Unexpectedly, when she looked back, he got out of the car too. He walked to the back of the car, opened the trunk and took out a black suitcase.

Su Yanxi was a little surprised to see him walking over with his luggage, “What are you…?”

“I’m moving back,” he said blankly, leaving Su Yanxi in a state of confusion. He strode towards the door of the villa, entered the password and went into the villa openly.

Su Yanxi was a little stunned and could not react at all. He was moving back?

Ever since she had gotten her marriage certificate and moved into this villa two years ago, he had moved into an apartment near the hospital. The two of them only interacted with each other at the old residence for family dinners or festivals. They basically didn’t see each other for the rest of the time, much less contact each other.

After standing under the sun for a long time, Su Yanxi finally snapped out of her daze. She stared at the closed door of the villa, tightened her grip on her bag and walked in.

She walked to the foyer to change her shoes. Looking at the pair of high-end leather shoes, Su Yanxi pursed her lips into a straight line. She quickly changed her shoes and went to the living room. However, she did not see that familiar figure. In the end, her gaze landed on the stairs and she quickly walked upstairs.

She did not see him when she passed by the two guest bedrooms. When she finally reached the master bedroom, she found him taking the clothes out his luggage and hanging them into the wardrobe.

“Lu Jingyan, this is my room.” She glanced at the few sets of men’s shirts and suits in the closet and her brows furrowed slightly. Her tone was slightly anxious.

“It’s mine too.” Lu Jingyan turned around and looked into her eyes. He calmly put his hands into his side pockets, and the voice that came out from his cold lips was cold and domineering, not giving her any chance to deny it.

Su Yanxi frowned, “What do you mean?”

“I came back to fulfill the obligations as your husband.”

“You…” His words rendered Su Yanxi speechless. However, she did not know if it was her imagination, but she could hear a hint of mockery in his words.
