Chapter 8: Get In The Car

Looking at the pale face in his arms, Lu Jingyan frowned slightly. He lifted her back and legs and carried her in his arms to the emergency room.

The nurses were surprised to see Lu Jingyan carrying a woman in his arms. After all, every time they tried to get close to him, he would avoid them, not to mention that he would appear in front of them with a woman in his arms. He didn’t even treat a patient like this.

Lu Jingyan put her down on the empty flat bed. He took the receipt from her hand and looked at it carefully. Then, he glanced sideways at the dumbfounded nurses and handed the receipt over. He said coldly, “Go get the medicine.”

“Her name is Su Yanxi.” Lu Jingyan seemed to be impatient with the nurse’s words. He glanced over and interrupted her coldly.

Stunned, the nurse glanced at Su Yanxi, who was lying on the bed. She looked up at Lu Jingyan, “Dr. Lu, do you… know this…?”

“I know her. Hurry up and inject her. Are you waiting for me to do it?” Lu Jingyan had completely lost his patience. His originally cold and calm voice suddenly had a hint of anger.

After the nurse placed the needle on the back of Su Yanxi’s fair hand, she picked up the basket and stole a glance at Lu Jingyan. However, she realized that Lu Jingyan, who was staring at Su Yanxi. She did not say anything else. She simply picked up the small basket and left silently.

When Su Yanxi woke up again, it was already the next morning. Her head was heavy and she felt weak all over. As she sat up, a white curtain surrounded her sleeping area.

The memories in her mind suddenly returned to last night when she had an acute gastritis relapse and came to the hospital alone. In the end, she even met Lu Jingyan. After that… she could not remember anything.

As soon as she got off the bed, the curtain was pulled open and a nurse walked in. She was awake and the nurse said, “Miss Su, you’re awake. I’ll go get the doctor to take a look.”

“It’s alright, I’m fine now,” Su Yanxi stopped her. Deep down, she was afraid that she would call Lu Jingyan.

She looked at the bag in the nurse’s hand, raised her eyes and asked with a faint smile, “Is this my medicine?”

The nurse nodded, “Yes, three times a day. Take them before dinner.” Then, she paused for a moment before continuing, “Miss Su, are you really alright?”

“Yes, I’m fine,” Su Yanxi answered softly. She took the bag from the nurse, picked up her bag, and thanked the nurse before leaving the Emergency Department.

After exiting the hospital, the morning sun shone on her warmly. Just as Su Yanxi was about to walk to her car, a black Bentley suddenly stopped in front of her. The car window rolled down slowly and a familiar cold voice sounded from inside, “Get in.”
