Chapter 32: It Was Shameless

Su Yanxi waited at the cashier counter for about two minutes before she saw a familiar tall figure walk in from the entrance of the supermarket. His hawk-like eyes scanned around before he finally fixed his gaze on her.
Pursing her red lips, she subconsciously used her body to block the sanitary pads in her hand.
However, this small action of hers was caught by the man. He had already noticed what she was holding when he saw her. His gaze narrowed and his long legs stopped in front of her.
Looking at his empty hands, Su Yanxi looked up and asked, “Didn’t I ask you to bring my bag over? Where’s my bag?”
“Line up and pay the bill.” Lu Jingyan put his hands in his pockets and turned away, directly ignoring her question.
Su Yanxi frowned. She did not like the man’s forceful tone. Ever since she was young, even her parents had never used such a tyrannical tone with her.
When he saw her glaring at him with unwilling eyes, Lu Jingyan frowned slightly. He reached out to grab her wrist and pulled her to the cashier to line up. He stood behind her and said coldly from above, “Stand properly and don’t move.”
“Let go of me. I can stand on my own.” She stumbled a few times in her high heels after being pulled by him. She could even feel the warmth in his palm.
Lu Jingyan looked down at the top of her head and ignored her words again. He still had no intention of letting go of her wrist.
Just as Su Yanxi was about to break free from the man’s grip, the old lady in front of her suddenly turned around and said with a smile, “Young couples nowadays are really blessed! Young lady, you’re so lucky! Your husband is so handsome, you should cherish him!”
Su Yanxi was stunned and her lips moved. Why did the old lady’s words sound so wrong?
What did she mean by her husband was so handsome that she should cherish him?
Just as Su Yanxi was having an internal struggle, two light words floated above her head again. “Thank you.”
Su Yanxi snapped out of her daze and looked up at the relaxed man in surprise. Sensing her gaze, the man retracted his gaze from the old lady and met her eyes. He nodded calmly. “The old lady is right.”
“Of course. I’ve lived for more than half a century, and I’ve eaten more salt than you’ve ever eaten rice. I’m very good at judging people! Putting aside the fact that the two of you are married and living together, just meeting each other is not easy.” After hearing Lu Jingyan’s words, the old lady sounded even more confident. She even reached out to pat Su Yanxi’s hand. “Miss! I think you’re quite pretty too. You and your husband are a perfect match! So, sometimes, you can’t be too willful.”
