Chapter 1576: Chapter 1576: Plagiarism Storm
Xaviera Evans smirked, Quinn Powell’s fox tail shows itself, doesn’t it?
A lie requires countless other lies to cover it up. She was curious to see how Quinn would keep up with her lies, a single wrong word could ruin her.
In the Powell Group, at this moment.
Due to Quinn’s framing of the perfumer, Cynthia, the Powell Group recently faced a boycott on the internet. Even though the Powell family pinned all the blame on Linda Campbell, it could not change the deep-rooted dislike towards them. They had seen that video where the Powell family was forcing Cynthia to give up on clarifying the truth.
Quinn managed to redeem herself somewhat by risking her life to save someone, earning some trust back. But as the Powell family started to regain their reputation, a new scandal broke: Quinn was suspected of plagiarizing Miss Mandy’s work.
— The perfume Quinn made was strikingly similar to Miss Mandy’s, with nearly identical ingredients and scent.
The newly redeemed Quinn, fell once again into a plagiarism scandal, trending on the internet.
Jacob Powell called an emergency meeting. The dissatisfied shareholders protested, “Mr. Powell, don’t forget that we signed the betting agreement with Julius Powell which has already officially taken effect. In no time, your sister is involved in a plagiarism scandal, what exactly are you brothers up to!”
Jacob’s face darkened, defending out loud, “These are all rumors! Quinn would never plagiarize!”
One shareholder snorted coldly, “No use telling me that. The similarities between Miss Powell’s and Miss Mandy’s work are obvious. Miss Mandy is a genius in the perfume industry and everyone’s idol. Offending her will definitely provoke public anger. Once Miss Powell is confirmed to have plagiarized, not only will it affect Powell’s family but also all of us!”
The shareholders had no patience to appease the heir apparent. Quinn was causing the Powell Group major losses with a constant stream of scandals. They initially let it slide due to Jacob, but involving Mandy was something they could not tolerate.
“Mr. Powell, remember that you agreed to the betting agreement. If the business fails, we are talking about a compensation of 4.8 billion dollars. Can you afford that if this continues?”
The shareholders angrily left the room, thoroughly disappointed in Jacob and Quinn. Why couldn’t Quinn stick to creating perfumes? Why did she attempt to plagiarize Miss Mandy’s work?
Even though the Powell Group continued to deny Quinn’s plagiarism, it was clear to everyone. The styles of their perfumes were nearly identical and a few statements wouldn’t convince anyone.
Looking at the departing backs of the shareholders, Jacob slumped in his chair, his mind in turmoil. He refused to believe that Quinn would plagiarize. There must be a misunderstanding.
He had heard of Mandy before, known as the genius girl of the perfume industry. Even if Quinn were to plagiarize, she wouldn’t be foolish enough to copy Mandy.
Moreover, Quinn had a natural talent for creating perfumes and was kind-hearted. Even when Xaviera had stolen her perfume, Quinn didn’t mind and was willing to give the perfume to Xaviera. Quinn, such a good-natured girl, would never steal someone else’s hard work.
But now everyone was convinced that Quinn had plagiarized, and he needed to present a reasonable explanation to prove her innocence.
Jacob slammed the documents on the table hard. His eyes were red with rage.
Quinn had been unscathed for many years, but now she was suddenly exposed for copying someone’s work. Who was pulling the strings behind the scene? To his disbelief, Xaviera despised Quinn so much that she wanted to destroy her completely!
Meanwhile, at the Powell Villa.
Quinn was staring at the news on her phone with resentment.
Who was Mandy? When did she plagiarize Mandy’s work? She didn’t know Mandy at all, had never smelled any of Mandy’s works. How come everyone is saying she copied Mandy now?
Even if one perfume coincidentally matched Mandy’s creation it would be a different matter, but five of her perfumes were similar to Mandy’s and those perfumes were released four years ago by Mandy, with hers following a year later, so she had no way to dispute the allegations.
Quinn clenched her fists tightly, her sharp nails digging into her palm. The perfumes she held were crafted by Xaviera Evans five years ago, which was earlier than Mandy’s creations, so if anyone had plagiarized, it had to be Mandy copying Xaviera. Unfortunately, she couldn’t say a word about it.
