Jacob Powell snapped back to reality, as if he had just been hypnotized, almost revealing the truth just now. Had Xaviera really regained her memory?

For a moment, Jacob felt like he was back on that day five years ago. At that time, Xaviera had the same look in her eyes now–cold, desperate, resentful, and with a hint of unyielding determination.

Having said that, Jacob hurriedly left. Albert shouted loudly, “Mr. Powell, don’t you want me to treat Miss Quinn anymore?”

Jacob obviously did not reply and wished he could fly out of the Lowen Clubhouse immediately. Watching Jacob leave in a panic, Albert sneered, “Just as I expected. Quinn isn’t sick at all. If she were, why wouldn’t he be in a hurry to find a doctor? He must’ve only wanted to force Xaviera to apologize to Quinn.”

Sam and Lucy exchanged glances on the side, then left together.

Only three people were left in the room. Albert finally asked, “Xaviera, don’t you want to know how Jacob found out about the blood…”

He paused for a moment, glancing around, “Let’s go to the study.”

This matter was too important, involving Xaviera’s life, so he had always been cautious.

The three of them entered the study, closed the door, and Albert spoke again, “I was trying to help you out of the situation earlier. I might have gone a bit too far with my words and scared Jacob away. Now, how are you going to get information from him?”

Caleb walked to a table on the other side, put on gold-rimmed glasses, flipped through the files, and got ready to work.

Albert glanced at Caleb and then approached Xaviera, asking softly, “Is Caleb… the biological son of Will Mamet?”

Xaviera looked surprised, “Yes! Did you find some clues related to Caleb?”

Albert shook his head, “Not really any clues. It’s just strange that a useless man like Will Mamet could have such an outstanding son like Caleb. But thinking about it, since Caleb’s mother is Miss Winni Drew, it makes sense.”

“And, it’s a pity that Caleb was born into the Mamet family. If he could have been born into a family that treated him well and supported his career, things might have turned out differently.”

Albert had some information he didn’t share with Xaviera because it was too complicated and involved Imperial City’s wealthy families. It was better not to let Xaviera know.

Moreover, it seemed that Caleb hadn’t told her, so he shouldn’t let it slip.

Xaviera looked at Albert suspiciously, feeling like he was hiding something from her!

But before she could ask, Albert changed the subject, “Xaviera, I’ve recently got a lead. Five years ago, when Quinn fell ill, Jacob sought medical help with a huge sum of money. At that time, someone went to meet him.”

“I’ve found out who this person is. It was Wayne Reiser,” Albert continued, “In fact, I didn’t need to say it, you must have guessed that Jacob and Wayne had contact. But you couldn’t determine who was the first to know the secret about the blood. After my investigation, I’m sure that person is Wayne Reiser.”

When they heard Wayne’s name, Caleb’s eyes suddenly turned cold.

Xaviera nodded her head, “I’ve learned some things about Wayne from Joyce Jones. But I don’t understand how Wayne knew about my relationship with the Powell family, and how he knew my mother was Robert Powell’s fiancee? I remember Madam Powell didn’t acknowledge my mother’s identity back then and kept her existence hidden from everyone in Yittaland.”

“Even the Russell family didn’t know about my mother and Robert’s affairs. How could Wayne know and even plot for so many years? And what’s the point of using my blood to save Quinn for Wayne? What benefits could he gain from making such a plan?”

“I know Jacob and Robert. They’re weak by nature. Although they’re not kind people, they couldn’t come up with such a plan. The only one in the entire Powell family with the scheming and means is most likely Quinn.”
