Luo Mengmeng’s face flushed with embarrassment as she stomped her foot in annoyance and glared with her eyes, “It’s just my stomach growling, what’s so funny about that!”

Because she had snacked too much tonight, she hadn’t eaten much for dinner, so it would be strange if she wasn’t hungry now, in the middle of the night.

After Gu Zhihan contained his laughter, he pulled out a packet of biscuits from the big pocket of his camouflage uniform–biscuits that she had insisted on giving him before the military training–and handed it to her, “Eat these for now to fill your stomach a bit.”

“Hmph!” Luo Mengmeng took them and immediately started eating.

However, although she was petite, those few biscuits were far from enough to even fill the gaps between her teeth, and the bag was empty in no time.

After reluctantly licking her fingers, Luo Mengmeng stared hopefully at the big pocket of his camouflage uniform, “Do you have more? I’m still hungry…”

“No more…” Gu Zhihan couldn’t help but tug at the corner of his mouth.

Was this girl born in the year of the pig with such an appetite?

“Alright then.” Luo Mengmeng sat back down on the steps, cupping her chin and morosely plucking at the grass beside her, “I don’t have any snacks left in my dorm either, otherwise I could have gone there to get some.”

“I don’t have any in my dorm either,” Gu Zhihan added.

Luo Mengmeng shrugged, not surprised, since she knew he was never fond of snacks.

“But I’m hungry…” Luo Mengmeng’s stomach started “gurgling” again. She covered her stomach and blinked twice, then she seemed to think of something and stood up excitedly, clapping her hands, “Hey, I know where I can find something to eat!”

As soon as the words left her mouth, Gu Zhihan saw Luo Mengmeng running off in high spirits.

“Where are you going?” he asked immediately, following her with his gaze.

There was no convenience store in the military compound, so where could she possibly find something to eat at this late hour?

“To Uncle Luo’s place! Just wait here for me! I’ll be right back!” Luo Mengmeng waved at him and dashed off to find Luo Yu.

Gu Zhihan felt reassured and let her go.

Soon after, he saw the young girl trotting back with two bowls of steaming instant noodles.

He immediately strode forward to meet her and took the bowls from her, “Let go, I’ll carry them.”

“Okay…” After Luo Mengmeng released her hold, she took out two cans of beef and two sausages from her pocket and gave half to Gu Zhihan, “Here, one for each of us!”

Gu Zhihan looked at them and pushed them back, “You don’t need to give me any.”

“If that’s the case, then I won’t insist,” Luo Mengmeng said, already reluctant to part with them. Seeing him refuse on his own accord nearly made her burst with joy.

Instant noodles with beef cans and sausages were simply delicious.

Luo Mengmeng slurped her noodles with gusto. When she looked up, however, she realized Gu Zhihan hadn’t touched his bowl, “Why aren’t you eating?”

“I’m not hungry.” While saying that, Gu Zhihan looked down at the steaming bowl of noodles in his hands, “It’s all yours.”

“I can’t eat that much,” Luo Mengmeng quickly shook her hands. A bowl of noodles, two cans of beef, and two sausages were more than enough to satisfy her hunger.

“You better eat quickly, otherwise it’ll get cold and won’t taste good,” Luo Meng urged.

“Alright.”

Upon hearing her say that, Gu Zhihan lowered his head and began elegantly eating the noodles with a fork, giving the cheap bowl of noodles an air of fine dining.

Luo Mengmeng couldn’t help but swallow, her appetite growing even stronger.

It had to be said, eating with an attractive person you liked could multiply one’s appetite several times over…
