Chapter 1031: Chapter 1031: Scramble (Third Release, Seeking Monthly Votes to Ensure Minimum)
Shen Qingyi hesitated for a moment before asking another question, “Should our fellow disciples wait here for a few days?”
Feng Jun shook his head, “Let them go to Danxia Heaven first, arriving a few days early as guests is a show of respect to the host.”
Actually, he didn’t want to enter the Mobile Phone Plane again so soon, but her question reminded him that it was still snowing heavily there while it was already mid-April here.
Had he not thought of it, it would have been fine, but now he couldn’t help wanting to synchronize the seasons of the two planes… His obsessive-compulsive disorder really couldn’t bear it.
He went to the backyard and entered the Mobile Phone Plane directly.
Once inside, Feng Jun tinkered around in the courtyard for a day, replenishing goods like the Boiler Camel Motorcycle and all-terrain vehicles, and then went to the Spirit Gathering Array at Mount Zhige to cultivate for two days.
Only after his spiritual energy was fully replenished did he call Chairman Huang Fu Flawless to inform her that the perfume had arrived.
At the entrance, the Tiantong Commerce Alliance and Wuyou Platform had already made phone calls. In fact, quite a few people on Mount Zhige had installed telephones nowadays. Though walkie-talkies were convenient, they lacked privacy and the call quality wasn’t as clear as landlines.
Chairman Huang Fu Flawless hurried over upon receiving the call and also received a set of communications equipment parts.
Chairman Huang Fu had grown accustomed to Feng Jun suddenly producing large quantities of goods and had no interest in delving into the details, though she did inquire if he could train another batch of communication professionals for her.
The machine room at Pine Cypress Peak Yan Family side had been built, with the equipment being calibrated, but one of the two who went to Earth Realm for training had accidentally offended a cultivator and was eradicated on the spot.
These two actually brought seven or eight disciples with them, but there was a clear difference between systematic training and secondary training, and the two masters couldn’t properly answer many of the disciples’ questions.
Chairman Huang Fu Flawless originally planned to wait until she collected a certain number of challenging questions before arranging another training session with Feng Jun, but the sudden murder of her person two days ago forced her to move the schedule up.
The incident of her person being killed was quite dramatic: an Intermediate Level martial master, unknowingly, hit on a cultivator’s woman and was killed by the latter. In such cases, the cultivator didn’t need to take much responsibility.
After the incident, when the other family learned that the victim was a technical talent from a Golden Core Family, they were taken aback and took the initiative to offer more compensation, with a very humble attitude.
Hearing about this, Chairman Huang Fu Flawless didn’t know whether to laugh or cry; talking about seeking responsibility was out of the question–the rules of the Cultivation World were such that as long as there was a somewhat reasonable excuse, a cultivator could kill a commoner without guilt.
And since the other party had offered compensation, what more could she do?
Actually, Pine Cypress Peak felt that their project was impacted and demanded that the offending cultivator’s family stay out of Pine Cypress Peak’s ten-thousand-mile radius for sixty years, otherwise they shouldn’t blame them for being ruthless and heartless.
Pine Cypress Peak’s domineering nature was evident, yet the other family readily accepted–to have offended two major powers and still not lose any lives was already quite fortunate.
Feng Jun didn’t plan to start training immediately; he wanted to wait until Zhang Caixin advanced to the Qi Refinement Realm before considering starting another training session. However, he did think of something else, “By the way, how is Pine Cypress Peak’s skill in repairing magical artifacts?”
“Very average,” replied Chairman Huang Fu Flawless without hesitation, “far worse than Sword Forging Peak, and incomparable to Tiantong.”
Seeing Feng Jun’s dubious look, she added with a smile, “I won’t discuss the other matters, but how many famous Treasure Weapons and magic artifacts has Sword Forging Peak crafted? And what about Pine Cypress Peak, how many famous weapons and magical treasures have they produced?”
Feng Jun looked at her and chuckled, “I feel like you’re equivocating a bit. Crafting magical treasures and repairing them are not the same thing, right? Artifact Crafting is Sword Forging Peak’s strength, but is Tiantong any less formidable in producing notable magical treasures that you dare to belittle Sword Forging Peak?”
“Tsk,” huffed Chairman Huang Fu Flawless dismissively–after getting along for so long, they could even be considered ‘poor friends,’ so she didn’t have much restraint when talking to this transcendental person, speaking very casually, “My Tiantong has received many custom orders for magical treasures, it’s just that we have to keep it confidential at the clients’ request.”
“Custom-made?” Feng Jun’s eyebrows raised with interest, “Were those magical treasures all made by Tiantong’s Artifact Crafters?”
“That’s not the case,” replied Chairman Huang Fu Flawless, who could boast but dared not exaggerate, “Tiantong can formulate professional plans and then choose the appropriate master crafters to create them. Many master crafters aren’t easily available to just anyone, but there’s no problem for Tiantong.”
Feng Jun smiled, “So you all are still acting as an intermediary agency, profiting from asymmetry of information. Nonetheless, you indeed live up to the word ‘professional.'”
Having interacted with him for so long, Chairman Huang Fu Flawless had gotten used to some of his vocabulary. She suggested earnestly with a smile, “Actually, Tiantong has many full-time Artifact Crafters, and if you want someone to repair a magical artifact, you’d be better off going to Guanquan Valley instead of Pine Cypress Peak.”
Feng Jun shook his head, hesitated for a moment, but still took the initiative to express, “I need to have a chat with those two from Pine Cypress Peak.”
As expected, upon hearing his words, Chairman Huang Fu Flawless offered, “I’ll help you make contact. Let’s meet at Tiantong’s courtyard tonight… Those two have been plotting to conceal their movements, we shouldn’t spoil their plans.”
I knew you would do this, Feng Jun thought to himself with an inward smile.
At midnight, he quietly arrived at the Tiantong Commerce Alliance.
Bai Jiuzhou and Leng Qionghua had already arrived and were having a lively conversation with Master Xu. However, just as Feng Jun entered the courtyard, the two of them turned their gazes toward a certain direction at the same time. Master Bai even let out a cold snort, “Since Daoist Luo is here, why bother hiding?”
Following that was a light laugh, and Luo Shuchen appeared outside the courtyard. Although he wasn’t tall, he laughed heartily, “Haha, it’s quite lively here. Well then, I will take the liberty of being an uninvited annoyant.”
Feng Jun felt puzzled. Wasn’t this man supposed to have taken Liang Huan back? “Could it be that the poison has flared up again?”
Luo Shuchen shook his head with a smile, “With Liao Er there, he should be unharmed. I brought the man to Qiuchen Market and then returned.”
Then, he turned to Bai Jiuzhou and Leng Qionghua and bowed, “Many thanks to both Daoist friends for your valorous assistance. May I ask what discussion is happening today, and whether I might be privileged to listen in?”
As the saying goes, one does not slap a smiling face. Leng Qionghua’s brows furrowed, but in the end, she glanced at Feng Jun, “This time, it is Daoist Feng who summoned us. Whether it’s convenient or not… that’s for Daoist Feng to decide.”
Feng Jun stood up, smiled, and returned the bow, “Actually, it’s not a big deal. I brought some damaged magic artifacts and would like to ask the two esteemed experts from Pine Cypress Peak to take a look and see if they can be repaired.”
Chairman Huang Fu couldn’t help but roll her eyes upon hearing this, thinking that this guy was getting more and more detestable, actually learning to haggle like this.
However, in her eyes, damaged magic artifacts weren’t worth much. She was just a bit displeased–he was intentionally maintaining a distance from Tiantong.
But Leng Qionghua was pleased at the mention, “Daoist Feng, you indeed act with decisive and swift thunder and wind. May I have the honor of inspecting them?”
Luo Shuchen felt a bit disappointed when he heard they were damaged magic artifacts.
However, he thought again that a magic artifact Feng Jun sought help for must have its exceptional merits. Thus, he smiled and spoke, “I have yet to hear that Fairy Leng is also skilled in artifact crafting. Truly, cultivators have various talents, each excelling in their own art.”
Feng Jun, of course, was not afraid to take them out for inspection. So, he took out five items, including the three he had just obtained from Shen Qingyi, along with the Demon-Sealing Pagoda and the Yin-Yang Mirror.
“Eh?” The number of damaged magic artifacts caused Master Xu to be unable to help himself from reaching out and picking up the Soul Capturing Bead to fiddle with.
Chairman Huang Fu was fixated on the Ice Silk Robe, a flash of different light in her eyes, “A female cultivator’s protective gear?”
Leng Qionghua’s attention was on the Demon-Sealing Pagoda, “The malevolent being inside this tower…”
“It has already been eradicated,” Feng Jun responded with a smile. There was no need for him to exert effort to obliterate the Orochi; without the protection of Feng Jing’s spatial attribute, the force of the spatial barriers encountered during plane traversal was enough to utterly annihilate it.
Leng Qionghua had previously inspected the Demon-Sealing Pagoda and, hearing now that the malevolent being was gone, picked it up again for a closer look.
Luo Shuchen extended his hand, picked up the Yin-Yang Mirror, and looked at it with a peculiar expression, “This object… Is it a replica?”
Leng Qionghua turned her head to look and was taken aback as well, then rubbed her eyes, “Daoist Feng, where does this come from?”
Feng Jun simply smiled, not answering, but internally he was muttering, “Please, such a question is really inappropriate.”
Luo Shuchen flipped the object back and forth, “Seems it’s not the Genuine Yin-Yang Mirror.”
“Of course, it’s not the Genuine Yin-Yang Mirror,” Leng Qionghua looked at him coldly, “If it were, you would have died at least three times by now.”
Luo Shuchen answered nonchalantly, “If it were the real Yin-Yang Mirror, I wouldn’t be the only one to die.”
Seeing the direction of their discussion, Feng Jun hurriedly interjected, “Alright, please have a look, Fairy Leng, which of these five items cannot be repaired?”
“I can find someone to repair the Demon-Sealing Pagoda and this mirror for free,” Leng Qionghua stated, “As for the remaining three… The Ascension Mirror is useless to repair, the Soul Capturing Bead is too rough, and for the Ice Silk Robe… one thousand and five hundred Spirit Stones.”
Feng Jun couldn’t help his face going dark upon hearing this. I say, it’s already enough that you didn’t quote a repair price, yet you dismissed two of my magic artifacts?
He could understand her perspective, being a high-rank cultivator detached from the world, it was normal to look down on low-quality magic artifacts, especially the damaged ones. But to critique someone else’s belongings like this was rather disrespectful to the owner.
So he nodded with a smile and turned to glance at Chairman Huang Fu, “Chairman Huang Fu, may I have your assessment?”
Chairman Huang Fu’s gaze flickered with strange light for a long time before she spoke, “This Demon-Sealing Pagoda… could indeed be repaired, but this mirror poses a great obstacle. I think it will be very difficult to fix. The other three items, however, will not require too many Spirit Stones to repair.”
Leng Qionghua gave her a nonchalant glance, “Do you think I can’t repair this mirror?”
