Chapter 651: Chapter 651: Involved in the Conflict
“I am Shi Hao, I know that, but where is this?”
Shi Hao had left his Immortal Abode and, after briefly sensing his surroundings, couldn’t help but show a look of surprise.
The spiritual energy here was denser, and the rules seemed richer.
He had traveled far from Yunding Star, arriving at one of the stars he used to gaze up at from its surface.
Indeed, every star in the sky was a vast existence beyond measure, some even capable of nurturing life.
Shi Hao looked around, and based on what he could see, there was no significant difference from Yunding Star–if not for the richer spiritual energy and more abundant rules, he might believe he was still on the South Wood Continent.
But in truth, he had drifted countless distances to arrive at this unfamiliar celestial body.
Shi Hao was a bit bewildered, but he quickly firmed his resolve.
He just needed to fight his way back.
Moreover, the denser spiritual energy here meant that there would be more Heavenly Materials and Earthly Treasures, and the richer rules could make his combat power at the same level even stronger.
Cultivating here, his cultivation would improve faster.
First, have a meal to calm his nerves.
Shi Hao took out his tools and began to cook.
While cooking, he pondered a question.
The nine Almighties had joined forces, unleashing the Immortal Flame that ended the life of the Elemental Creatures, quelling the chaos–a great merit indeed. However, the issue was, the battle had lasted several years, and to end it in such a manner was, frankly… child’s play!
And since it was the Immortal Flame, it naturally couldn’t have been without the hands of the Immortal Realm.
This meant the entire scenario involved a game played by the Immortal Realm; they were merely pawns, unable to do anything but passively allow themselves to be manipulated.
Shi Hao was extremely dissatisfied with this.
When the day came for him to enter the Immortal Realm, he would definitely seek justice for himself and for the billions of beings on Yunding Star.
Besides, why had the nine Almighties taken action directly?
Weren’t they afraid that someone like him would still be in the earthly grotto, buried alongside the Elemental Creatures?
Given the terror of the Immortal Flame, waiting a few more days for its operation wouldn’t have made any difference to the outcome.
But no one waited for him to emerge.
Perhaps the nine Almighties didn’t care about the lives of insignificant beings like him, totally unconcerned about others in the effort to eliminate the Elemental Creatures. Alternatively, someone could have concealed the fact that he descended into the earthly grotto, leading everyone to believe there were no students left inside.
If it was the latter, Shi Hao would find out who was undermining him and exact thunderous retribution.
He cooked many dishes and started eating with the Purple Gold Rat.
After feasting on food and wine, just as they were planning to rest and prepare for a vigorous struggle from tomorrow, they suddenly saw a figure dash out from the woods.
The other party evidently hadn’t anticipated encountering someone dining here; even under the glow of the fire, the surprise on his face was discernible.
He was a middle-aged man in his thirties, clad in armor, looking like a soldier or perhaps an officer, and he was carrying another person on his back, also a man, dressed in brocade. Whether he was asleep or unconscious, his eyes were tightly shut, not fluttering at all.
“Ga ga ga, Chang Feng, where do you think you can run to?” a voice came from in front of the man, followed by the appearance of an old man dressed in gray. His chest was embroidered with a lively spider.
The middle-aged man hurriedly stopped and was about to flee to the left, but saw a seductive woman standing on the treetops appear, her mouth carrying a mocking smile, “Chang Feng, you have fallen into a heavy encirclement.”
The same was true to the right, where a man with a heavy stick on his shoulder appeared, half of his face horribly disfigured and quite frightening.
Not to mention the back, where the pursuers had already arrived, a man in his forties clad in a Taoist robe, holding a sword in hand.
The man on Chang Feng’s back was tied with a strap, so there was no need for him to keep hold with his hands. He coldly said, “The Fourth Prince is destined to inherit the great treasure, yet you still act as the accomplice of the tiger, daring to harm the Fourth Prince’s only son, are you all seeking death?”
The coquettish woman giggled, “As long as we take down this guy, the Fourth Prince will surely listen to the eldest prince’s persuasion and voluntarily give up the right of succession to the throne! So, the future monarch of Heavenly Frost Country… is the eldest prince!”
“Despicable!” Chang Feng roared, clenching his fists, “Even if I die, I will ensure the Princely Heir safely reaches the Imperial Capital!”
“Stubborn fool!” the grey-clothed elder said as he spread his hand and countless little black shadows fell to the ground from his sleeve and then swiftly crawled towards Chang Feng.
Upon closer inspection, these little black shadows turned out to be spiders!
“Hey, hey, hey, even though you’ve given a thorough introduction right from the start, making me, an outsider, fully understand the situation, when you start to fight, you can’t just treat me as if I’m air,” Shi Hao raised his hand and said.
Could he really attract misfortune just by being?
He had just arrived in this strange world and had already been swept up in the battle for the throne between two princes.
However, no one paid attention to him.
All four pursuers were focused on Chang Feng, not daring to be distracted in the slightest.
Clearly, despite their casual talk, they regarded Chang Feng as a formidable opponent and did not dare to be careless.
As for Shi Hao?
Even though he appeared very abruptly, they planned to silence this unexpected witness after accomplishing their mission, not worth bothering about.
By this time, the army of spiders had already attacked.
Chang Feng flicked his hand and a huge shadow appeared out of thin air.
It was a humanoid suit of iron armor, extravagantly designed with long metallic blades protruding from the helmet, back, and arms. With Shi Hao’s discerning eye, he could be sure that it could easily slice through the bodies of Founding King Court’s soldiers.
A puppet? Shi Hao guessed in his mind.
But Chang Feng simply threw the young man on his back towards the humanoid iron armor.
When the robe-clad young man was about to crash into the armor, the armor’s chest suddenly split open, revealing a space just big enough for one person.
No sooner had the young man been thrown inside than the armor’s chest closed up again, leaving no gaps whatsoever.
“Chang Feng, you truly are a loyal retainer, even now thinking of others,” the gray-clothed elder cackled. Under his control, the army of spiders had surrounded Chang Feng and swiftly started to spin their web.
Chang Feng snorted, “With just the four of you, I have nothing to fear!”
“What if you add me?” A laugh echoed, and a young man in white strode forward. He was tall and slender with handsome features, impeccably clean despite the dark, damp surroundings, exuding an air of easy grace.
“Tai Wuji!” When Chang Feng saw the man in white, his pupils shrank, revealing a strong sense of wariness.
Tai Wuji, the third son of the eldest prince, was a prodigy. He had reached the Ninth King cultivation a few years back, and his combat power far exceeded that of ordinary Ninth Kings. Though Chang Feng was also a Ninth King, he stood no chance in front of Tai Wuji.
“Chang Feng, you are a man of loyalty, and I can offer you a title on behalf of my father the king, and you can work for me from now on, what do you say?” Tai Wuji said with a smile.
