Chapter 806: Chapter 151 Gush’s Eye_2
This is the vault that the Dwarf race has been guarding for generations, the treasure accumulated over thousands of years by the Dwarves of the High Mountain Kingdom.
Under the brilliance of this vault, the face of the Dwarf King was etched with the marks of time, his gaze traveling among these fruits of labor, seemingly recalling every little detail of the past.
Even Lord Titus couldn’t help but open his mouth wide, his beard fluttering as he exclaimed in awe, “Lord Ed, this is truly… an astonishing fortune.”
Seeing the Gold Dragon’s astounded expression, Lord Ed nodded with satisfaction, feeling an exceptional pride and self-regard for the Dwarves’ wealth–this was a fortune that even made the Gold Dragon gape!
“Of course, Lord Titus, when my father first brought me here, I was so astonished that I couldn’t even walk straight, almost fainting right inside this vault.”
The Dwarf was the first to enter the vault, and after hesitating for a moment, the Ancient Gold Dragon lowered its head, tucked in its Dragon Wings, and squeezed through the large doors to enter the vault as well.
The Dwarf and the Gold Dragon, one in front of the other, walked among this wealth that seemed almost dreamlike.
Titus couldn’t help but look around, observing the Gold Coins, gemstones, and magic equipment around him.
The Gold Coins were piled into small mountains, the gemstones glittered like stars against the night sky, and the Magical Aura that radiated from the equipment shone brightly, featuring twenty pieces of Legendary Level equipment, including knives, swords, Great Axes, Warhammer, and armor–a dazzling array that left him a bit dazzled.
With the natural appraisal Skills of giant dragons, within just minutes, Titus, or rather, Cassius had roughly estimated the value of this vault–over twenty million Gold Coins!
Worthy of the treasure that the Dwarves had been accumulating for thousands of years, even for the Ashen Empire, which had achieved industrial mass production and was dumping goods all over Fianso, this was a tremendous fortune!
It was a pity, however, that this wealth was about to belong to an evil, greedy Red Dragon.
Titus breathed rapidly, feeling a heat all over his body, even having the impulse to kill the Dwarf King on the spot and claim the vault for himself.
But he quickly calmed down, as this vault would eventually be his anyway, there was no need to act on impulse, and moreover, Lord Ed still had something important for him to guard.
The Ancient Gold Dragon composed his emotions and said solemnly, “Thank you for your trust, Lord Ed, to let me enter… such a place.”
This was the sincerity demonstrated by Ed, leading a giant dragon into the vault, everyone knew what this meant–absolute trust.
The Dwarf King wanted to forge a solid bond between the Ancient Gold Dragon and the Shield Dwarves to gain true Protection, and this was a necessary price to pay.
“Lord Titus, I’ve told you, I believe in your character, and you will always be our staunch ally, the Dwarves.”
At that moment, the imposing, wise face of the Ancient Gold Dragon was filled with emotion, as if it were genuine and spontaneous warmth, showcasing that his acting skills were truly at their peak.
Coming to the end of the vault, they entered a chamber carved with various runes, with the Dwarf halting before an inconspicuous wall, his expression solemn as he gazed straight ahead.
Then, he took out a small knife he carried with him, cut his finger, and smeared the blood on the wall, drawing mysterious Dwarf Language symbols while muttering to himself.
“By Moradin, in the name of the King of High Mountains, ruler of the Shield Dwarves, of the bloodline of Black Stone Mountain…”
Suddenly, the blood-drawn symbols lit up brilliantly, and the surrounding runes also emitted a faint light, with the reliefs of Dwarves on the wall as if coming to life, brandishing their weapons and letting out angry battle cries.
“Boom–”
A pedestal made of Black Iron rose slowly from the ground, inlaid with a broken stone piece that resembled part of an eye, emanating an extremely vile aura.
Instantly, the Ancient Gold Dragon’s eyes widened, a never-before-seen surprise and astonishment sparkling in his golden pool-like pupils, murmuring to himself, “This, this is… impossible, by Bahamut above, I thought that was just a myth.”
His eyes saw the item description of this “stone” emerging.
[Gush’s Eye (One Half)]
Quality: Myth
Domains: Chaos, Evil, Strength, War
Effect: Unknown
Summary: The Orcs harbor a unique hatred towards Correlon Larysian and Moradin, as well as their followers. It is said that many years ago, Correlon Larysian blinded Gush’s left eye in battle.
Of course, some Orc priests doubt this legend, dismissing it as nonsense. They believe that the Elf God stole the eye because it is impossible for him to defeat Gush in a fair fight.
In Orc legend, the eye Gush lost in battle against the Elf God Correlon Larysian became a Divine Artifact. Elves, however, scoff at this tale and insist that Correlon Larysian completely destroyed Gush’s eye.
Lord Ed looked at the fragmented stone, unwittingly puffing out his chest, filled with pride in his tone: “Lord Titus, you are indeed well-informed. You guessed right–this indeed is a part of that eye.
In ancient times, the Father God, in collaboration with the chief Elf deity, defeated the Orc god, blinding his eyes and splitting them in two, securing each half in the High Mountain Kingdom and Serinia–this is one of those halves.”
Lord Titus gazed at the stone radiating chaos and evil Divine Power, a tumult of thoughts surging in his heart.
This was a part of a mighty divine-level deity, with a value far surpassing the combined treasures in this vault! Titus, or rather Cassius, was determined to have it!
No wonder the Orcs from his past life had made such rapid progress after conquering Aivendel, even stirring up the dreadful “Orc Catastrophe.” So it turns out they had found the sacred relic of their race!
At this point, the Dwarf King’s tone turned grindingly bitter: “However, now the Orc god has used despicable means to sever our connection with the Father God, preventing His Divine Power from descending upon the world.
With the Ashen Empire to the southwest eyeing us voraciously, ready to strike at any moment, I can only entrust it to our most trusted ally–that is, you.”
Lord Titus once again calmed his overly excited heart and continued to probe: “Lord Ed, since Serinia is guarding the other half of the eye, why don’t you entrust it to the Elves?
They have formed a Holy Alliance with you Dwarves for thousands of years, always been your staunch allies, certainly more reliable than I.”
Lord Ed shook his head, explaining: “These two pieces of Gush’s Eye must never be kept together. If I were to do so, and if the Orcs overran Serinia, they would possess the complete Gush’s Eye, and the consequences would be unimaginable.
Moreover, Serinia is facing an unprecedented upheaval, and I cannot predict who will prevail in the end.
I trust Catherine and Lady Rhea, but I can’t trust those Elf Elders who disregard the Holy Alliance and stand idly by our Dwarf kindred.”
Ultimately, the Dwarf King lifted his head, gazing into the pale golden eyes of the Ancient Gold Dragon: “This half of the eye holds unimaginable evil strength; only the bloodline of the Shield Dwarf Royal Family can seal away this wicked object from the Orc god.
Lord Titus, I hope you will keep it safe and never let it fall into the hands of the wicked, or the consequences would be dire, potentially stirring a disaster of Multiverse proportions.”
“Rest assured, I will guard it with my life.”
Lord Titus bowed his head, spreading his Dragon Wings behind him and meeting the Dwarf King’s gaze with the unique etiquette of a Gold Dragon, his voice extra solemn and his gold vertical pupils revealing an unprecedented determination.
However, at this moment, Titus, or rather Cassius, was harboring thoughts not as righteous and noble as his words suggested–he simply wanted to have both halves of Gush’s Eye for himself.
