Chapter 530: 334 Sunken Ship Exploration (2)_2
Last time, the Dragon Palace Snail made him so happy that he immediately spent two hundred thousand Big Coins to buy it from him.
Chu Mingcheng saw through his friend circle that for several days in a row he entertained old friends who had come to admire his home aquarium, so this time when he went out to sea, Wei Jiaguo told him again to make sure to get some rare marine life.
And don’t forget his pair of meter-long Groupers.
Chu Mingcheng naturally agreed right away, as for whether he could encounter them, he’d leave it to fate!
But obviously, Wei Jiaguo’s luck was still not bad.
Despite its ugliness, the Wolf Eel’s flesh is very good, and it has quite a market.
But the finest part is the flesh on both sides of its cheeks, said to be no worse than prime beef and very chewy.
Chu Mingcheng was also interested in the cheek meat; he glanced around the warehouse and discovered that there was more than one Wolf Eel.
However, the others were relatively small, the biggest being just over a meter long.
The warehouse was large, with most of the food already devoured by these fish, and many plastic bags floating on the ceiling.
Chu Mingcheng searched for a while before he found where the wine was stored.
Just as he had thought, there was a lot of wine here, stacked in box after box in great quantity.
Because they were in boxes, most of them were intact despite only a few being damaged on the surface.
But unfortunately, the value of these wines was low; although the bottles were still okay, many of the seals had leaked.
More than half of the sake could be set aside for now, but about half of the red wine corks had been pressed halfway in by water pressure, surely allowing seawater to seep in.
The water pressure at over 300 meters meant it was indeed unlikely for ordinary red wine to survive underwater for decades.
Chu Mingcheng hadn’t expected that the most valuable thing he found in the whole ship might just be the two boxes in the upstairs warehouse.
As for the first batch of wine and vases, the likelihood of them being valuable was very low.
The shipwreck exploration felt somewhat disappointing. Chu Mingcheng turned on his headlamp and placed the flashlight into the net pocket.
Then he took the spear gun off his back and started tonight’s hunt.
He first approached the meter-long Wolf Eel hiding under a cabinet.
The Wolf Eel seemed to sense danger as it opened its large mouth in a threat, its two sharp upper teeth clearly dangerous.
But Chu Mingcheng was not to be scared. He swam above the Wolf Eel and aimed the spear gun at its head before pressing the button.
The spear head shot out with a whoosh, piercing the Wolf Eel’s head without obstruction, causing it to thrash its tail in pain and twist its body.
Compared to its large head, the Wolf Eel’s body was somewhat like a ribbon fish, very slender, looking not nearly as powerful as the Grouper.
So a two-meter Wolf Eel might weigh just about forty to fifty pounds.
Also, Wolf Eels are slow swimmers, so Chu Mingcheng could easily control one.
But the life force of the Wolf Eel was unexpectedly strong; it was a good five or six minutes after being pierced through the head before it stopped struggling.
Chu Mingcheng carried the Wolf Eel over to the wine crates, pulled out the spear, and placed a bottle of wine crossways in its open mouth.
With a foreign object in its mouth, the eel instinctively bit down hard, and after two crunching sounds, the bottle was shattered.
‘Impressive~’
Chu Mingcheng marveled at its biting force; no wonder it could still dent a can with just its fish head left.
So facing this Wolf Eel, he only tied up its body with rope, leaving its mouth untouched.
There were many fish in the warehouse, but the easiest to hunt were these slow-moving Wolf Eels.
And there were quite a few Wolf Eels here, most likely mostly offspring of the giant.
After hunting five Wolf Eels and seeing that it was already four-thirty, Chu Mingcheng set his sights on the giant.
The giant Wolf Eel had moved to a different spot, where some deep-sea crabs were found in the warehouse. The hard and spiny shell looked tough to deal with, but the Wolf Eel swam over and snapped them up one by one as if eating small fries.
The hard, spiny shell was like crispy bones in its mouth, crunchily edible.
Chu Mingcheng swam over it, took the spear gun, and used the same method to aim at its head.
Who knew the head of this big Wolf Eel was exceptionally hard, and its skin was also very tough, so the spear only penetrated a little bit.
The Wolf Eel immediately shook off the spear and turned, opening its mouth to bite at him.
Chu Mingcheng was taken aback, but his reaction and speed were far beyond anything the Wolf Eel could match.
He constantly adjusted his position according to the direction of the Wolf Eel, ensuring he stayed as much as possible behind it.
After dodging for a short while, the Wolf Eel realized it couldn’t bite Chu Mingcheng and turned back to flee.
Could he let it get away?
Chu Mingcheng immediately followed up, aimed the spear gun at the wound on its head, and stabbed in again.
Different from last time, he also pressed down with his whole body, using his strength and weight to pin the Wolf Eel to the floor.
The Wolf Eel twisted like a snake, but it was only strong in its biting force and vitality, nowhere near as powerful as the Seven-band Grouper on the deck.
Just like with the Grouper, Chu Mingcheng held it down, watching as its life slowly faded away.
It took a full fifteen minutes for the Wolf Eel to quiet down this time.
Whether it was completely dead was uncertain, but at least it was safe to bring it back.
He tied the Wolf Eel up with a safety rope, pulled out the spear, and then Chu Mingcheng returned with six Wolf Eels.
He didn’t feel relieved until he got back aboard the Sea God and put all the Wolf Eels into the cold storage chamber.
The shipwreck exploration was pretty much done, so next, he’d do some fishing to fill up the cold storage chamber, and it would be time to head back.
