Chapter 647: Chapter 648: Is Group Captain Tang Going Home?
“Almost, the safe area is like this right now, the winter supplies have been confirmed as unable to be dispatched, so this winter won’t be easy for either the residents in the safe area or our troops. Just have a rough idea in your mind, and we can talk in detail when you come over tomorrow,”
“That’s fine, if there’s nothing else, I’m heading home. I’ll come over early tomorrow,”
Qu Guo’an laughed, “Ah, a married man is indeed different.”
Tang Zelin stood up, picked up his military cap, and put it on, the corners of his mouth slightly lifted.
“You should get married soon too, stop being all alone.”
Qu Guo’an laughed, “Whenever the leaders and your father used to urge you to get married, you would get a headache, but now that you’re married, you’ve changed, and even started advising me.”
Tang Zelin laughed heartily, and before leaving he didn’t forget to look back and say, “I now understand how they felt back then; they were truly worried sick.”
“Alright, hurry home. I guess Comrade Xiaosu is already pretty mad at me for stealing you away,”
“She won’t be.”
Qu Guo’an nodded and hummed in agreement, “Sister Su Shu is a good person.”
“I will.”
Someone laughed heartily and strode away.
Qu Guo’an couldn’t help shaking his head behind him.
He felt an unexplainable flicker of envy.

After saying goodbye to Old Qu, Tang Zelin left the group headquarters.
He was on the road home so his mood was much lighter than when he’d arrived.
The smile on his face hadn’t faded when he happened to meet Bai Qinghuan, who was coming down from the hill to return to the hospital.
Initially, Tang Zelin didn’t notice.
It was Bai Qinghuan who, with sharp eyes, spotted the tall figure first.
“Group Captain Tang?”
Tang Zelin stopped, turned his head, and seeing a familiar face, looked again and smiled faintly.
“Bai Qinghuan?”
“It’s me, have you returned, Group Captain Tang?”
Bai Qinghuan quickly descended a few steps, standing not far from Tang Zelin, and said with a smile, “Are you heading home?”
Tang Zelin nodded, “Yes.”
“Is Sister Su Shu doing well?”
Upon hearing this, a strange flicker crossed Tang Zelin’s mind, fleeting.
“She’s fine; you can come over to our place when you have a chance.”
Polite yet cordial.
Bai Qinghuan laughed, “Yes, I will. You must be busy, Group Captain Tang, I’ll head back to the hospital first.”
Tang Zelin nodded.
After Bai Qinghuan left, he turned and continued up the hill, tilting his head slightly, looking in the direction from which Bai Qinghuan had come.
That area…
Seems like they’ve built a new residential area?
Old Qu said that area was for people who came to live in zone one later, including someone he knew.
Tang Zelin neither agreed nor disagreed, who said he was familiar with that someone?
He didn’t know her, okay.
All the way up the hill, thinking about his wife on the hilltop and someone at the foothill, and despite claiming not to care, his expression wasn’t bright all the way up to his doorstep.
Su Shu wiped her hands on her apron, came up to meet him, and seeing Tang Zelin bringing in the cold from outside, her expression didn’t look quite right.
She couldn’t help but worry, “What’s wrong? Did something happen with the troops? You look awful.”
Had she not mentioned it, he wouldn’t have even noticed.
After Su Shu’s remark, Tang Zelin realized he had been somewhat overly concerned.
Looking down at the face before him, filled with concern for him, he slightly bent down and tenderly pecked Su Shu’s lips, switched to a gentle smile.
Su Shu raised an eyebrow, “One minute gloomy, the next sunny, are you hiding something big from me?”
“I just got back, what big thing could happen?”
Tang Zelin couldn’t help but chuckle, gently rubbed her head, and said, “I’m going to wash my face first.”
