During her time recuperating in the hospital, the Luo Family and Ge Family helped take care of the children at home.

She and Lu Tong had stayed in the hospital for several days, which had depleted a considerable amount of the household’s stored food.

After getting her stitches removed, Lu Tong silently watched as the household’s food stores decreased by more than half, which couldn’t help but add to her worries.

Since Su Shu hadn’t been home for a few days, she first fetched water to clean both inside and outside the house and then brought Xiao’ai and Xiaopang back from the Ge Family.

In the evening, she specially opened two or three cans, stir-fried two dishes, and made a soup.

Around the square table, the four of them gathered to sit.

Su Shu filled the bowls with rice, sat down, and first gently touched Lu Tong’s head, “Let me see if it’s gotten better, does your head still hurt?”

“Aunt Su, is there really a baby in your belly?”

“Yes, there’s a baby in Auntie’s belly. Once winter is over, next year you’ll be able to see your little sister.”

No sooner had Su Shu spoken than Xiao’ai, who had been staring at her belly, suddenly lifted her head.

Blinking her large eyes twice, she corrected her, “No, it’s a little brother.”

A jolt went through Su Shu’s heart, but she soon smiled, reached out to ruffle Xiao’ai’s hair, and said gently, “Okay, my dear, Auntie knows, thank you my little Xiao’ai.”

Xiao’ai looked down to eat a few bites, then sneakily glanced at Su Shu’s belly again.

Su Shu, eating her own meal, found her reaction quite amusing.

“Xiao’ai, focus on eating your food.”

Xiao’ai grinned and nodded, “Mhm, mhm.”

The dinner was sumptuous, and the three children ate heartily. After the meal, Su Shu cleaned up and went to her room to write.

The three children played in another room. As the early winter night was a bit chilly, Su Shu made sure to heat the house up nicely in the evening, fearing that the children would not adjust well to the weather which had only recently turned cold.

She, meanwhile, sat in her room, deep in thought.

Becoming pregnant so suddenly had brought significant changes to her current life.

She needed to replan her future living arrangements. Tang Zelin had not yet returned, and once he did, there would be more people in the family.

Their lifestyle definitely couldn’t be the same as before.

She had to consider what preparations to make.

Especially since,

she hadn’t prepared for a baby before the Apocalypse.

Apart from baby formula, she hadn’t prepared any of the other stuff.
