Chapter 383: Chapter 381: Lady Ghost, Spare My Life!
“Creak creak—-”
The elevator sound rose again; someone else was coming down!
Jiang Yan frowned in annoyance: It just never ends…
After sealing the box and tossing it into Space, Hua Bao had already dashed out with a few swings of Vine.
“Just kill them,” she mentally instructed Hua Bao.
“Okay, Mommy.” As the voice faded, two gun-toting guards had just emerged on this floor when they felt a powerful force wrapping around their necks.
Before they could react, their heads had parted ways with their bodies.
Hua Bao remained invisible throughout, so the scene appeared as if the heads of the two men suddenly “splurted” a stream of blood plasma, and then their bodies and heads were gently placed in the corner in a very peculiar posture.
Because they did not naturally fall to the ground, the men died silently.
Even though her heart had been previously stirred by the “slaughtering” conveyor belt upstairs, Jiang Yan’s eyelids still couldn’t help but “thump thump” spasm a few times.
Hua Bao’s method of murdering was becoming more and more ruthless and resolute.
However, in such an apocalyptic environment, it wasn’t necessarily a bad thing.
The submachine guns in their hands were also snatched out of thin air by Hua Bao’s Vine in the instant their heads were twisted off.
Since the action was swift, the guns weren’t stained with blood.
“Mommy, here.” As usual, Hua Bao passed the two confiscated submachine guns to Jiang Yan.
Jiang Yan lightly touched them with her fingers and stored them into Space.
“Check their clothes for other resources,” said Jiang Yan as she also started searching the smaller man’s body.
“Okay, Mommy.”
Hua Bao quickly returned from the two decapitated bodies, her vines shrugging like human arms, “Mommy, I found no items, their pockets are cleaner than my face!”
Jiang Yan, initially with a solemn and cautious expression, couldn’t help but laugh, “Hua Bao, you’ve learned to be humorous now.”
But these people had nothing in their pockets except for their guns, which could mean only two things:
Either they were of inconsequential status.
Or, all their resources were being centrally managed.
The person who was clearly in charge of this was the shorter man.
That was probably one of the reasons why everyone was so wary of him.
“Humorous?” Hua Bao’s eyes rolled around, quickly grasping the meaning, and smiled, “Thank you for the compliment, Mommy~”
Only Jiang Yan, who was familiar with it, found it endearing and cute.
To others, Hua Bao’s wide grinning might seem quite frightening.
With blood-red tongue and sharp, hard teeth, coupled with a “chatter” sound, it always gave the illusion of wanting to swallow and chew someone whole.
After searching the smaller man’s pants, Jiang Yan found nothing but a very small Swiss army knife.
In the coat pocket, there was only a small bag of compressed biscuits.
He wore plenty of clothes.
Jiang Yan, too lazy to unzip them one by one, took out a special dagger from Space, capable of cutting through iron and withstanding low temperatures, and slid it across the neckline.
“Creak—-” After the dagger cut through several layers of clothing and encountered something hard, a faintly grating noise was emitted.
Jiang Yan’s brow furrowed, and she extended a finger to hook the man’s innermost layer of clothing, “zip” slicing it open, and her pupils suddenly narrowed when faced with a mini bomb vest flashing a red dot, drawing in a cold breath.
“Mommy, this is—-” Hua Bao also clearly saw, “Is this the bomb vest that Xue Dazheng, that big baddie from Anming’s hotel, made his subordinates wear?!”
“Yes.” Jiang Yan took a deep breath, flipped over the clothes of the smaller man, and quickly began searching.
Soon enough, a very tiny remote control flashing a red light was found by her.
There was only a sliding push-button, no other instructions whatsoever.
When Jiang Yan previously went to the Beautiful Country to purchase weapons, the intermediary introduced to her this kind of bomb vest, mentioning there was no way to disengage it.
This button was solely for the wearer of the bomb vest to trigger the explosion.
It seemed that the situation was more complicated than she had thought.
“Creak, creak–” Someone else was coming down.
This time, there was only one person.
Hua Bao was about to dart out to defend, but Jiang Yan stopped him, “Hua Bao, bring him with you, and then take me up.”
As Jiang Yan spoke, she swiftly walked over to the mattress where the short man was sleeping and collected the mattress, the oxygen bottle, and the mask into Space.
“Okay, Mommy.”
After gathering the supplies, Jiang Yan attached a silencer to her gun and loaded it.
No sooner had the person on the elevator appeared than she had already aimed and fired a shot upwards.
“Awoo–”
“Bang–”
The building was originally eerily quiet, and as soon as these sounds rang out, hurried footsteps and the sound of guns being loaded immediately came from upstairs.
Vine wrapped around Jiang Yan’s body with one tendril, while another coiled around the unconscious short man. The two tendrils shot upwards like feet, with three vines weaving into a transparent net, shielding her vital parts. The remaining tendrils whizzed out towards the people on guard inside the various floors.
The guards upstairs all stood at the elevator shaft with guns, spraying fire downwards, but found that bullets couldn’t penetrate a transparent barrier.
“Damn it, what sorcery is this!”
“Fuck! Are we seeing ghosts or what!”
“Crap, am I dreaming or what!”
“They’re coming up! That guy with the exposed belly, floating in mid-air, couldn’t be Little Boss, could he!”
“…”
Amidst the gunfire, a bunch of people watched the bizarre scene in horror, continuing to shoot wildly only with their guns.
Sounds of “Pfft, pfft” and agonizing screams of “Awoo, awoo” arose.
Soon, the floor fell silent.
With Hua Bao’s help, killing these people was as easy as flipping one’s hand for Jiang Yan.
Actually, she could have let Hua Bao take action directly.
However, such a scene was a good practice opportunity for her.
By the time they reached the “slaughter” assembly line floor, those with half their tongues cut off were already gripping knives, trembling like sieves, dumbfounded in place.
They had seen what happened below through the shaft earlier.
However, besides the knives in their hands, they had nothing else.
Jiang Yan stood firm on the ground, “Hua Bao, go up and deal with those guards, leave one alive and bring them down.”
“Okay, Mommy!” Hua Bao put the short man to the side and drilled out towards another door in a few moves.
“Awoo–” Screams came from next door, probably the person moving bodies with the forklift.
“Clang–”
The “Butchers” standing still in disbelief dropped their knives as Jiang Yan and the unconscious short man appeared out of nowhere in front of them.
Their knees buckled and they knelt down with a “plop,” begging Jiang Yan in terror:
“Lady Ghost, please spare our lives!”
