Chapter 54: Junior Sister

“Yama!” Qingcheng sounded a little sad when she said this.

Chi Yan didn’t know why she had chosen this name, but he was going to go along with whatever she said. “No problem, Mister Qing.” He still looked excited.

“I will take my leave then,” Qingcheng said flatly.

“I will get someone to send you back. There’s a Magical Beast carriage downstairs,” Chi Yan said hurriedly.

“No need. We can slowly take a stroll back.” She then started walking towards the staircase. But before that, she looked in Dongfang Haochen’s direction again. Somehow, she still felt like someone was watching her from that direction, but when she looked over, there was nothing but a wall. How strange…

Chi Yan quickly caught up with her. “Let me see you out.”

After he had seen Qingcheng and the rest out, Chi Yan quickly ran back upstairs. He saw his incredibly handsome Young Master standing in the room there.

“Young Master, Mister Qing has already left. Do you need me to send someone to follow him?” Chi Yan had nothing but respect in his eyes.

Dongfang Haochen stood tall in the middle of the room and exuded the aura of a natural leader. His charming and handsome face looked like an iceberg that had melted ever so slightly as his thin lips parted to say, “No need. Time will tell.” His voice was a little gentle, and he felt a bit happy just thinking about that young fellow.

Chi Yan couldn’t help but ask, “Young Master, I just have one question. Do you know Mister Qing?” There was no other reason why he was so interested in her.

“You want to know?” Dongfang Haochen replied.

“Yes!” I’m really very curious,” Chi Yan said honestly.

Darknight looked at him as well. “I’m very curious, too! I hope Young Master can tell us!”

“She’s my Junior Sister, Feng Qingcheng of the Feng family,” he said. He didn’t elaborate further.

All three of them were stunned to hear this.

Darknight and Darkshadow were immediately enlightened. No wonder! But Chi Yan was in utter disbelief. Young Master’s Master? Yun Yangzhenren? When had he taken in a female disciple?

Upon seeing Chi Yan’s completely confused face, Darknight coughed quietly. “Ahem… ahem…” He whispered to Chi Yan, “I’ll explain it to you another time.”

Since Darknight didn’t seem confused, Chi Yan didn’t question further.

“What has the crown prince been doing lately?” asked Dongfang Haochen.

Chi Yan replied respectfully, “There are a few things. Firstly, he’s been privately talking to some court officials as he wants to get them on his side. Secondly, a few days ago, he made a request to the emperor to annul his engagement to the Second Young Mistress of the Feng family, Feng Qingcheng, your junior. He then got engaged to the First Young Mistress of the Feng family, Feng Qingling, instead.

“After the royal edict on this was sent out. Apparently, Second Miss Feng couldn’t take it and ran away from home the next day. On the third day, the Feng family announced that Second Miss Feng’s remains had been found in Langya Magical Beast Forest.” Once Chi Yan finished saying all this, he took a quick look at Dongfang Haochen’s expression.

Then he continued, saying, “After that, the crown prince secretly ran to the grave of Second Miss Feng… Uh, I mean, the supposed grave of Second Miss Feng…” Young Master’s glare was really sharp! “He sat there for about half an hour all by himself. Thirdly, Advisor Shi, the advisor who supports the crown prince, has been getting busy. He’s been trying to raise his own faction of power in secret.”

Dongfang Haochen fell into deep thought. He had looked through her information and knew about this engagement that was made when she was a child. From the records, this young fellow was quite attached to the crown prince, too. Even though he knew that the part about her going missing and dying wasn’t real, he still felt unhappy. The crown prince thought she had died and secretly went to her grave and sat there for so long by himself. What did that mean?

A very strange feeling overcame him. He felt as though someone else was coveting something that belonged to him, and it made him feel very uncomfortable.

Chi Yan looked at Dongfang Haochen and waited for his Young Master to respond. What was wrong with Young Master? What sort of expression was that?
