Another knock brought back her attention; Ye Qiuqiu hurriedly opened the door.

“Such a grown-up and you don’t even let your mother know what’s going on, just hiding away.” Ye’s mother entered, chiding, but stopped upon seeing Qiuqiu’s red eyes.

Ye’s father, not much for words, picked up his granddaughter, his eyes never leaving Qiuqiu.

“Are you being mistreated? Dad will take care of it.”

“Mom and Dad have sorted everything out at home, we’re here to help you.”

Ye Qiuqiu couldn’t hold back any longer and, like a child, burst into uncontrollable sobs.
