Chapter 298: 147 Shadow_3
General Fremont stepped aside, revealing the stern-faced Yang Ming.
Princess Dana felt as though she was looking into a pair of incredibly sharp eyes.
Yang Ming gestured, and General Fremont turned to close the door of the lounge.
“Princess, before you started doing these things, didn’t you prepare a few laser guns?”
“What, what are you talking about?”
Yang Ming stepped forward. Princess Dana’s ample body trembled, and she unconsciously stepped back.
“The Imperial Palace had been under my surveillance for a long time,” said Yang Ming in a measured tone. “I wouldn’t allow anyone to take the throne that belongs to Edwan – not you and not the Old Emperor. Did you think your actions would be so smooth without my permission?”
General Fremont slightly shrugged his shoulders at the side.
Princess Dana retreated to the couch, trying to breathe deeply to calm herself down, and whispered, “You must understand whom you are speaking to!”
Yang Ming replied indifferently, “A spy for the Imperial Foreign Affairs Bureau, Dana Neviss, the adopted daughter of Earl Mensa, though officially she’s claimed as his biological daughter.”
Princess Dana’s face turned slightly pale.
“You must understand,” Yang Ming said softly, “the intelligence operations of the New Federation have been defeated by Edwan and me. I just didn’t want Edwan to grow too resentful of the powerful Sherman Empire. This is a job for you, but now there’s a significant flaw in your work, and you might be silenced by your superiors, right? The Empire does not tolerate scandals.”
“Enough!” Princess Dana burst out, “Tell me what you want! I’m sick of you self-righteous people!”
“I don’t want to do anything,” Yang Ming extended his right hand proactively, “we can cooperate.”
Dana paused.
Yang Ming took the initiative to take Princess Dana’s right hand, disregarding her subconscious struggle, and bowed to kiss her hand.
This was a common etiquette in the Sherman Empire.
“I am a firm supporter of Edwan, and also a friend of your daughter.”
Yang Ming said with a firm gaze:
“I am here partly because your daughter suffered emotional trauma.”
“To Edwan, she is now the last of family.”
“To mend her emotional wound is to reveal the truth to her. Given my understanding of her, she can accept the truth.”
Princess Dana uttered tremulously, “This, this isn’t possible! What exactly do you know?”
Yang Ming mentioned a specific date and time.
Princess Dana’s pupils trembled–it was the exact moment she had been insulted by the Intelligent Machine.
“As I Said, the Imperial Palace has always been under my surveillance, every corner,” Yang Ming said, “you can now choose whether to publicize this matter or keep it within a small circle. I respect your role as Emilia’s guardian.”
Princess Dana swallowed hard.
She suddenly felt an inexplicable pressure.
This young man before her was a beast, a beast that could tear her apart!
“You… Perhaps you could help console her a bit, Viscount.”
Princess Dana bowed her head and walked aside, facing the wall, raising her hand to wipe the corner of her eye.
The women in front of her withdrew to their respective sides, each watching Yang Ming warily.
Yang Ming walked forward a few steps and bent down to gently rub Emilia’s head.
“Bounty Hunters are here, we can solve all your troubles. How much pocket money have you saved up?”
Emilia’s lips trembled. She slowly looked up, her eyes gradually regaining their light and quickly reddening while she forcefully endured.
In a hoarse voice, she asked, “Can you provide a memory erasure service?”
“Yes, but my memory erasure surgery isn’t as advanced as the New Federation’s,” Yang Ming said. “I can help you get out of this nightmare. Your mother has a lot of things she can’t explain to you; she didn’t do anything wrong. Once you understand the truth, you’ll understand her and support her.”
Princess Dana turned her head in some astonishment.
“But, but…”
“Come with me,” Yang Ming said, “This time I’ll help you for free as compensation, if there’s a next time, then it will come at another price.”
Emilia looked at the large hand extended in front of her, the black leather glove carrying a bit of warmth.
Without hesitation, she tightly grasped Yang Ming’s pinky finger, being pulled out from the shadow-filled corner by him.
