Chapter 1203: Volume 7: Dominating The Human World, Chapter 1198: Message from the Star Palace
The immortal cultivation realm of the State of Yue, situated in the central region of Tian Luo, has experienced centuries of disputes with few prolonged periods of peace.
Years ago, the six sects of the State of Yue were defeated by the Devilish sects. Later, the Devilish sects fought openly and covertly over control of the State of Yue. Ultimately, the Ghost Spirit Sect emerged victorious. However, a century ago, the Controlling Spirit Sect seized the opportunity when the Ghost Spirit Sect suffered significant losses during the Devilfall Valley battle and, in alliance with several other sects, expelled the Ghost Spirit Sect from the State of Yue.
Currently, the State of Yue is divided among several sects led by the Controlling Spirit Sect. With its dominant strength, the Controlling Spirit Sect naturally holds nearly half of the spirit veins and mines in the region.
Deep beneath a large canyon lies one such spirit stone mine under the occupation of the Controlling Spirit Sect.
This mine originally boasted abundant reserves. However, after centuries of relentless excavation by the six sects, the Ghost Spirit Sect, and the Controlling Spirit Sect, the spirit stones have gradually been depleted, leaving the mine semi-abandoned.
Currently, the Controlling Spirit Sect only posts two low-level Qi Refinement Realm disciples to guard it; no other cultivators are stationed here.
On this day, the two disciples were idly chatting about various sect affairs at the entrance of the mine. Above them, on the surface, a green figure used Earth Escape Skill to silently infiltrate underground, arriving directly in the depths of the mine at an inconspicuous cavern.
Throughout the process, the two disciples remained utterly unaware.
A flash of yellow light revealed the figure–a youth with an unremarkable face. His eyes briefly swept across an empty corner of the cavern, and a faint smile played across his lips.
This individual was none other than Han Li, who had traveled here from the State of Xi.
A month earlier, after emerging from secluded cultivation in the State of Xi, Han Li did not encounter Nangong Wan, whom he had been thinking about.
During her century-long seclusion, Nangong Wan had ventured out of her chamber several times to specifically travel around Tian Luo, seeking to temper her temperament.
When Han Li emerged, Nangong Wan had already returned to her chamber years prior to enter the next stage of secluded cultivation.
Though slightly disappointed, Han Li chose not to disturb her, sending her a Sound Transmission Talisman to inform her of his planned journey. He then visited Lu Luo and Liu Yu’er at the Drifting Cloud Sect.
Upon seeing Han Li, the two were naturally overjoyed.
Over the years, the Drifting Cloud Sect had grown rapidly under their leadership, becoming one of Tian Luo’s most prominent sects. Additionally, the female cultivator of White Phoenix Peak, surnamed Song, had successfully condensed her Nascent Soul during this century, becoming the fourth Nascent Soul cultivator in the Drifting Cloud Sect.
Han Li felt a sense of satisfaction upon hearing the news. However, what surprised him more was that the Song cultivator had, after endless searching, finally found a disciple with innately powerful spiritual sense a decade earlier. Due to Han Li’s secluded cultivation at the time, this individual had been practicing within the sect independently. Reportedly, the disciple’s spiritual root aptitude was also favorable–a dual-attribute spiritual root.
Upon hearing this, Han Li immediately summoned the disciple to meet him. As it turned out, the youth was a clean-looking but slightly frail teenager about sixteen or seventeen years old.
Han Li personally tested the boy.
The youth’s spiritual sense was indeed extraordinarily strong–far beyond that of his peers. What’s more, the boy was honest and steady in temperament, which greatly pleased Han Li.
Without hesitation, Han Li directly asked the boy if he was willing to become his apprentice.
The boy, named Shi Jian, already knew who Han Li was. Hearing that the one reputedly Tian Luo’s greatest cultivator wished to accept him as an apprentice, he was overjoyed and unhesitatingly knelt and bowed to Han Li, formally becoming his disciple.
Han Li laughed heartily and brought the youth back to Mother-Child Peak, where he opened a cavern residence for Shi Jian on one of the smaller mountains. He even copied the Great Development Technique for Shi Jian.
Han Li instructed Shi Jian to focus on cultivating the Great Development Technique, while allowing him the freedom to select other techniques from the book for supplementary cultivation. Han Li did not interfere further. The extensive secret techniques recorded within the book by Monarch Great Development served as a testament to his incredible talent.
Furthermore, Han Li left a sufficient quantity of medicinal pills for the Qi Refinement Realm disciple and summoned Tian Qin’er, his other disciple, to assist Shi Jian’s cultivation for a time.
Speaking of Tian Qin’er, while her progress in cultivating the Dragon’s Cry Physique was inconsistent, with significant support from the medicinal pills provided by her Humanoid Puppet, she had finally reached the middle stage of Foundation Establishment after a century. As Han Li had speculated, her eventual Core Formation did not seem out of reach.
With the matter of accepting Shi Jian as a disciple resolved, Han Li felt a burden lifted from his heart.
When Monarch Great Development passed away, he had tasked Han Li with finding a disciple to inherit the Great Development Technique. Once Shi Jian reached Core Formation and above, Han Li planned to hand him several high-powered treasures and send him to the westernmost regions to claim the position of the Thousand Bamboo School sect hierarch, continuing Monarch Great Development’s legacy.
Meanwhile, Mu Peiling, who resided on another smaller mountain, had made significant strides in her cultivation after training in Masked Moon Sect’s secret techniques passed down by Nangong Wan. She had advanced to the late Core Formation realm and was diligently cultivating day and night, striving to achieve great success in that stage to attempt a breakthrough into the Nascent Soul Realm.
Han Li did not hold high hopes for her future progress–not due to a lack of aptitude. Rather, the path to condensing a Nascent Soul typically requires exceptional opportunities and blessings. Despite Mu Peiling’s extraordinary dedication, without other fortuitous encounters, her prospect of reaching the Nascent Soul realm remained elusive, as it is for most cultivators.
Once Han Li had completed preparations for both the sect matters and his own cavern residence, he left the Dreamcloud Mountains without hesitation, heading toward the State of Yue.
After all, based on Ling Yuling’s recent updates, the Star Palace was in dire straits, completely outmatched by the Starfall Coalition. If they hadn’t resorted to using the Ten Thousand Miles Talisman to summon him specifically, their situation might not have been so desperate.
Han Li certainly didn’t want to arrive at the Scattered Stars Sea only to discover that the one he was supposed to rescue had already met their demise due to a mishap.
At present, Han Li had reached the underground cavern beneath a large canyon where the ancient teleportation formation was located.
Although he had intentionally destroyed the formation during his last visit, Han Li had meticulously remembered its structure and layout. As long as the formation was reassembled in its original spot, it would function once again, enabling him to return to the Scattered Stars Sea.
What reassured Han Li even more was that only two low-level Qi Refinement practitioners guarded this place now. With the use of a simple deception spell, he could easily escape their notice, ensuring the site’s secrecy.
With these considerations in mind, Han Li grabbed his storage pouch at his waist and summoned it into the air with a flick of his hand.
The pouch twirled around at low altitude before its opening turned downward, spraying out a stream of white, mist-like light.
As the light dispersed, the ground was suddenly covered by a large pile of materials, primarily consisting of various rare stones and spiritual jades.
Han Li maintained a calm expression and waved at the pouch in the air once again, prompting another surge of white light.
This time, the pouch released several spell flags and magical discs, which hovered mid-air, emitting light of various hues.
Chanting softly, Han Li gently swept his sleeve toward the formation tools.
The tools transformed into streaks of light that vanished into the cavern walls, disappearing without a trace.
Soon, thick white mist began billowing in the cavern, engulfing Han Li entirely.
If any practitioner happened to pass by, they would only observe an empty, ordinary cavern, completely devoid of signs of activity.
The restrictive formations created by the array had thoroughly concealed Han Li as well as the pile of materials.
By now, Han Li had begun his meticulous preparations within the cavern.
Given his current expertise and knowledge in formations, constructing a small-scale array he was already well-versed in was hardly a challenge, particularly with an abundance of materials at his disposal.
Within merely two days, a brand-new ancient teleportation formation appeared in a corner of the cavern.
After carefully inspecting the array, Han Li sent a spell into its core.
A flash of white light appeared in the center of the formation, accompanied by a low buzz. Soon after, streaks of light flickered across the formation, only to dim and extinguish moments later.
It seemed the corresponding teleportation formation on the other side was fully operational, ready for use.
Han Li felt a surge of joy, his figure flickering as he stepped onto the formation.
Just as he was about to activate the array, his gaze swept toward the entrance of the cavern. A trace of hesitation flickered across his face before he lowered his head in thought for a moment. Suddenly, he reached toward the spirit beast pouch at his waist.
A faint hissing sound emanated from the pouch as its opening expanded, releasing a torrent of white snow and frost onto the ground.
Mist and frost swirled, materializing twelve snow-white centipedes, each about a foot long, with four pairs of wings on their backs. They radiated an intimidating and grotesque aura.
After releasing the Six-Winged Frost Centipedes, Han Li chanted softly and cast a series of spells toward the spiritual insects.
The insects shrank rapidly, transforming into palm-sized figures. They then opened their mouths, releasing waves of cold air that encircled their bodies, freezing themselves into crystalline forms.
Moments later, twelve glistening ice spheres appeared before Han Li.
Han Li flicked his fingers consecutively, shooting twelve green threads into the ice spheres, where they disappeared without a trace. Instantly, the ice spheres seemed to respond autonomously, burrowing into the ground in streaks of yellow light, completely vanishing from view.
Han Li nodded in satisfaction.
With these twelve spiritual insects, which were equivalent to grade seven demon beasts, guarding the area, even Nascent Soul cultivators would struggle to destroy the formation easily. This measure put Han Li considerably at ease.
Without further ado, he activated the teleportation formation, causing his figure to disappear amidst the flickering white light.
…
After the dizzying sensation of teleportation subsided, Han Li found himself on a small island millions of miles away.
Scanning his surroundings, he observed that everything appeared exactly as it had upon his departure. The site’s secrecy seemed to have been preserved without discovery by other practitioners.
Exiting the teleportation formation, Han Li reflexively swung his hand through the air behind him.
A streak of golden light slashed across the teleportation formation with a thunderous noise, cutting it cleanly in half.
Han Li, remaining calm and expressionless, walked out of the stone chamber.
A moment later, a green streak of light shot up from the island, hovered briefly, and then sailed away in a certain direction, disappearing beyond the horizon.
