Chapter 1021: Chapter 117 Let Mu Dong Pick Them Up

Wen Xin was video-calling Mu Chengxi when she heard someone knocking on the door. She raised her eyebrows at Mu Chengxi on the screen, “Your mom and your sister should have arrived. When are you coming back?”

In the video, Mu Chengxi looked at Wen Xin with some helplessness. He had finally found time to call her after being busy, wanting to know where exactly she was hurt.

Unexpectedly, this heartless girl not only did not show him her injuries but now she was also changing the subject.

In the end, Mu Chengxi could only compromise. He sighed softly, “I’ll be back in three days. I’ll send Mu Dong over to pick up my mom so they’re not staying in Independent State, to prevent them from becoming your weakness.”

“I won’t show you. If I say I’m fine, then I’m fine. If not for letting those people underestimate me, I wouldn’t have come to the hospital at all. Don’t worry, if I can talk to you properly, it means I’m fine. Your mom is here, so I’m hanging up now.”

Wen Xin didn’t give Mu Chengxi another chance to procrastinate and hung up the video call directly.

“Auntie, sister, you’ve arrived,” said Mu Chengxu and Wei Manqing as they entered, though they both looked somewhat disheveled and haggard.

Seeing Wen Xin in her hospital attire sitting on the hospital bed, Wei Manqing quickly walked up to her. Exhaustion was replaced by concern.

“What happened to you? Where is Chengxi? Wasn’t he supposed to be by your side? How did he still allow you to get hurt? Why isn’t he here with you after you were injured?”

“Chengxi heard that you and sister had an accident, so he returned to the country. I just got in touch with him. He said he would send Mu Dong to pick you up and take you back. He still has some matters to handle.”

“Auntie, it’s been a bit chaotic over here lately. Once I sort everything out, I’ll invite you and sister to come over and take a proper tour around here. Now is not the right time,” Wen Xin explained.

Independent State was a place everyone yearned for, and Wen Xin felt it unjust not to let Mu Chengxu and Wei Manqing enjoy it now, but indeed, the timing wasn’t right.

Wei Manqing started to explain but soon paused, unable to continue. She really didn’t want to admit that she misjudged someone, but denying it didn’t make it nonexistent.

“It’s okay, Auntie. Once I handle everything here, I will give you a satisfying explanation. I’ll have Moore take you and sister for a check-up first, and then take you back to rest well!”

Hearing Wen Xin’s words, a wave of fatigue surged within Wei Manqing; she indeed needed a good rest.
